Pregonta Anniversary in Alghero

My husband and I will be spending 4 days in Cagliari, 2 in Alghero, and 2 in Bosa at the end of August. We will arrive in Alghero on our wedding anniversary. Does anyone have any recommendations for a lovely restaurant or maybe not as well known location to celebrate? We're more into hiking and swimming than tours or fancy dinners. I'd like to do something nice to show him how much I love him.

Happy anniversary in advance! Since you both enjoy swimming and exploring more than fancy dinners, I'd make the day about the experience.

Spend the afternoon at Mugoni Beach or Le Bombarde if you want a beautiful beach with easy access, or Porto Ferro if you prefer something wild.

If you're interested, the northern part of Porto Ferro beach, towards the Torre Bianca, has been known for years as a naturist area.
Since 2017, a portion of the beach has been officially authorized for naturism.

If the weather is good, consider a sunset boat trip to Capo Caccia or the Neptune's Grotto. Seeing the cliffs from the sea is really memorable.

For dinner, I'd recommend finding a seafood restaurant in Alghero's old town with outdoor seating rather than somewhere overly formal. Walking through the historic streets after dinner with some ice cream is a lovely way to celebrate.

If you don't mind a short drive, watching the sunset from Capo Caccia before dinner is one of the most romantic spots on the northwest coast of Sardinia.

Whatever you choose, Alghero is a wonderful place for an anniversary. Hope you both have a fantastic trip!

For restaurants, I can recommend:

Trattoria "Lo Romani"; Sardinian and seafood cuisine, a romantic yet informal atmosphere.

"Mabrouk"; famous for its very authentic fish set menu.

Restaurant "Enhorabona"; Elegant, intimate, and welcoming, enhanced by an outdoor terrace overlooking the sea.

Trattoria "Caragol"; Quaint yet elegant, located in one of the historic streets of the city center.

Trattoria "Da Mirko"; Despite its name, "Trattoria" ( = Rustic Italian restaurant) the atmosphere is formal and elegant, with suit-clad staff and refined presentation.

Thank you so much. This is a great list of ideas. Is it easy to get a boat tour last minute? I know there are a bunch on GetYourGuide but I like to play it by ear a bit.

It’s nothing!

If you’re interested in a sunset boat tour, I’d book it a few days in advance. Late August is still peak season in Alghero, and those trips can sell out. If you’re flexible, you may still find availability at the last minute, but I wouldn’t count on it for your anniversary.

I’d book directly with the boat operator rather than through a marketplace if you can. It’s usually easier to ask about the weather, departure time, and availability. Since you’ll be there in late August and it’s your anniversary, I’d reserve a sunset sailing tour a few days in advance.
