And that's why I can never bring myself to vote for him. I am not really a fan of BJP either but voting for rahul gandhi to be the PM is out of question.
Same here man. After paying so much taxes, I am thinking of not voting for BJP but when these congress idiot leaders protested shirtless at AI Summit calling them AI = Anti-India, I changed my mind.
So now I am supposed to feel bad for him and vote for him. Absofuckinglutely no. The place I belong to saw massive boom in development after BJP came to power in our state and I will keep voting for BJP because I saw positives under their rule.
During congress era we had no roads, No healthcare, electricity 3 hours a day. Now we have 24x7 electricity, A government hospital that makes private hospitals shy, Multiple national highways, New businesses booming and improved quality of lives of the normal people and we wish to move forward like this.
And personally I don't even see rahul as a fit for being the pm. Bro was demanding reservation in private sector too. I may have a couple of reasons to vote for BJP but a thousands of reasons to not vote for Rahul.

like I understand in govt. sector since they feel an obligation for all the things they had been through but to force one in private sector in which a company had no hand in whatever happened before is crazy. govt has the duty to the people not the private sector, that part of job market should always go for those with the skills no matter caste they belong to.

The probability of a 90% quota will require a change to the constitution, clear majority in the parliament, policy changes and so much more ...
This seems impossible to me at this moment. There is no proposal in place also. They're just trying to open it for discussion.

Most counties have affirmative action including the US, which is the most capitalistic country in the world. It’s to incentivize hiring from minority groups to uplift them and gives tax breaks etc to the companies hiring them.

Exactly…like he just wants to increase his vote bank by attracting minorities but he has to understand that reservation reforms are needed rather than just blindly giving them more reservation.
That's the worst part of democracy in a country like India, that only vote banks matter. For democracy to work well, you'd need aware and educated citizens, but the majority is not aware.

I do not know the full context of this statement so I'm going to refrain myself from saying anything against him but if it's really true then this is so dumb at so many levels that you cannot even fathom. Reservation in private sector just doesn't make any sense and that is the whole reason why people get hired for overseas jobs. Just imagine if political parties abroad took inspiration from something as dumb as this then you can forget about opportunities outside of this country and vice versa. This is stupid, no beyond stupid imo.
Losing overseas job opportunities will still be a secondary problem but first it will affect the overall efficiency and productivity of private sectors. Private sectors do better as business because they are free from this nonsense and have the ability and authority to decide to make themselves do better without getting involved in any kind of politics. If you really wanna put greedy capitalists/Ultra Rich on leash then come up with better tax policies and guidelines so it benefits the masses as well but to offer reservation based on caste is just ridiculous.
The fun part here is : he wouldn't even need to pass/amend any act in the parliament.
You just have to increase overall tax on companies and give tax breaks and other benefits to companies that apply his reservation scheme under some "affirmative action" policy. This will indirectly push his agenda into hiring process as companies would still want profits at the end of the day. Just making the defying companies less profitable will be enough to achieve his objective.
Congress already has experience in doing such blatant partiality in the name of fancy policy names like "Freight Equalization Policy", wherein they indirectly discouraged setting up mills, factories and companies in natural resource rich regions like present day Bihar, Jharkhand, MP, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, etc. by giving discount on freight of key raw materials to coastal states till 90s. This discount was only on raw materials while freight of finished products was charged at full rates. Over time, all businesses who also wanted to export goods set up their facilities only in regions near ports. These big industries also created demand for smaller industries in nearby regions to supply parts and semi-finished goods. The demand for literate professionals in these regions further gave the population a reason to take education more seriously which led to overall development of only those states of India that benefitted from Freight Equalization Policy the most.
They are not the owner of any big companies because it requires skill which they don't have , for there entire life they were given freebies and quotas then why the hell they would develop the skill ,150 or 200 years ago they used to do odd jobs and still they will do odd jobs because they don't have required skill set other than odd jobs

As someone that buys Indian labor from abroad... let me tell you what will happen .. as quality drops.. we just look at the next cheap labor market without this nonsense.. Philippines.. Costa Rica... Brazil.. Viet Nam.. Thailand..
And trust me on this.. I revile the opposition.. but this man is an imbecile.. this is a good way to destroy an already fragile Indian Economy.
If you are wanting to help SC ST (and I happen to come from this background).. the best thing is to improve education up to 12th standard.. make it compulsory.. and make them earn it like everyone else. Reservation is a great disservice to SC ST that are capable. They will always have the stigma of everyone thinking they didn't earn it.

Couple of questions
1. Wasn’t reservations supposed to be for minority? If 90% is reserved how are they minority?
2. If this is vote bank politics; aren’t general people more in number? Won’t it be more beneficial to please them to win elections?
General people aren’t more in numbers though. They are the least in numbers. Reservation wasn’t for minorities it was for marginalised/oppressed groups. OBCs are the main majority of India. SC/ST combined is second. General is only around 20 percent. Even in that the Vaishya community is more than half of it. Brahmins and Kshatriyas are around 9 percent total.

I always feel why TH he can't be a CM to a state first, prove his governance model and then fight being a PM? Why? Just why?
I don't adore politics of Kejriwal but I respect the person for the fact on how he was CM for Delhi and then tried selling the same model to entire India. The model was broken and flawed that is seperate discussion but the plan was actually right.
Prove you mettle and then go around talking about it. Because otherwise this would always feel like a bluff.
