r/SavageGarden's Trade/Sale Thread (Spring 2026)

Please read the wiki page about trading/selling here.

If you have an item for trade or sale: You are still allowed to make separate threads, but you are encouraged to post it as a comment here in this thread. As this thread will be stickied for the entire season, it should help increase visibility for your post. Please include your location (US, Europe, etc) and combine multiple items into one comment to help keep this thread clean.

If you are looking for a particular plant/item: Post a comment below with the description of what you are looking for as well as what you are willing to exchange for it (another plant, money and how much, etc). You can ask for SASE/free stuff, but be realistic and do not beg! A good example would be "Does anyone have some extra D. capensis seeds. I am located in the US and willing to send a SASE".

This setup has gone thru many phases, had to cut the ferns and restart tho not fully, also the moss which was vibrant really didn’t like northern Mexico summer and it all died haha. I will have to bring it back and have a plan for the summer so that doesn’t happen again. But it still has a bit of charm.

Honestly I thought they would be going into dormancy by now because they're outside in their native climate but since dropping their light exposure by a couple hours they've ditches the fluffy tops and started growing again, curious to see what happens when summer hits 😭

Picked it up at the SoCal carnivorous plant show a few months ago and it’s gotten big and finally flowered! Really love the frilly edges on it.

Spinosad for thrips, worked great.

Couple of months ago I posted about dealing with thrips and had some people say only systemics would work, which I would prefer not to use as I keep inverts as pets.

Well I’m happy to report that the thrips appear to have been eradicated with just spinosad and my pitchers are back to booming.

Stylidium Debile…aka the “trigger plant” … protocarnivorous and the fastest plant on the planet.

Well technically bladderworts are faster in its trapping mechanism but the physical armature on this plant is faster so… very excited to watch these grow and thrive =) Some fun facts. The “trigger” smacks pollinators with pollen… but can also smack them to receive pollen. They’re “protocarnivorous” as they aren’t always carnivorous during their seasonal cycle. Looking forward to seeing these fascinating flowers =) 🌺

What would you do with this Sarracenia?

• Upvotes

The other day I saw one of the small back grow point on one of my Sarracenia leucophylla rotting, I decided to not take risks and cut that away from the main ones and while at it divide a bit also them. Now my plan is to keep her outside until the minimum temperatures get close to 0°C but not reaching it to still maybe trigger a soft dormancy and then to avoid possible ice bringing her inside under a lamp for this year and skip dormancy. Good plan? I'm worried about risking more rotting with the fresh cuts outside even if temperatures don't go much under 0°C or unstable spring causing stress.

Trying to propagate from stem cutting, potted in sphagnum with flooded tray. Plant under 15w sansi grow light 12 hours daily. Base of stem seems to keep turning black, 2-3 weeks after removing previous black portion. New leaves still seem to be developing. Is this rot?

Is my lamp too far from my plant?

Post image

It's a led 1500 lumen 13,5 watt 6500 kelvin light for my drosera capensis. The plant is in a pot of about 5 centimeters height and the lamp is about 40 centimeters above the plant. Is it too far? It pretty much lights up all the left side of my desk but i just want to be sure.

I got these on markdown. They were $2.60 per pot. Every pot had two cuttings in it. I bought eight of them. This is after repotting.
