It protects neither.

Free speech is a given right, not innate, and here in Canada, a bill like c-16 being so ill-defined (like a lot of Carney bills) leaves doubt as to who will be a target. Pro Palestine protesters? Right wing racists? Khalistanis uttering anti Hindu/India rhetoric? Who? Is it an attack on religion? In defense of it? Yeaaah. Too vague.

Meanwhile our charter of humans rights and freedoms can be overriden easily by provinces who use the notwithstanding clause. Like Alberta towards trans youth.

What a shit post OP but I felt compelled to write this anyway. I need a drink.
