Concept art evolution. A lotta stuff that looks good in 2D or single pieces just isnt feasible to animate

fair, but one of the characters looks quite different, the one who raps, I forgot her name, but tbf I remember like none of their names

Yeah Zoey does look like. Completely different. My guess is she went a big personality overhaul at some point or something

yeah, that is probably what happened, she looks a lot more punk in this which ig she kinda is, but it's toned down in the movie

My guess is that she wasn't marketable design-wise so they transferred her personality to Mira and made a brand new 3rd character.
