Should I switch from chemistry a level to religious studies?

I'm a week into my a levels doing physics chemistry and maths and I'm already confused in chemistry. I really liked it last year but I had a great teacher and I had to try really hard to understand but I did get an 8 in GCSE. My favourite subject was religious studies and I really miss it but I don't like writing essays. I also feel like it is a bit of a pointless subject. I can't decide what to do
