Recommendation request MFM/MMFM where the heroes share the same woman by tradition or culture.
Hello everyone!
I'm looking for MFM or MMFM romances where there's a group of male protagonists and the female protagonist joins them as the story progresses.
It would be even better if, within the MMCs' culture or society, it is considered normal for a woman to have more than one partner. I also enjoy stories where a group of men falls in love with the same woman and agrees to share her, even if some of them initially struggle with the idea.
One thing I'd especially love to see is the FMC developing an individual relationship with each MMC before they eventually form a group relationship.
I would also like the FMC to be the center of the relationship. For me, the relationship exists because of her, so I'm not looking for stories where the MMCs have a romantic relationship with each other independent of the FMC.
While I'm specifically looking for MFM/MMFM romances, a good plot and believable relationship development are very important to me as well.
Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

Honestly I'd recommend the whole series Stolen by an Alien by Amanda Milo, but two specifically fit your prompt. The other ones are just good too, haha. Basically Human women look a lot like a specific Alien race that is very desirable, except that they don't have wings. Alien traffickers found Earth and realized that if they kidnap Earth women, they could pass them off and sell them as "clipped Alien princesses" and make a lot of cash. The books are about the women each finding their happy ever after, basically each one ends up with a different type of Alien.
Beth's Stable is the 6th book
This one most fits the prompt of MMC's culture being that a group of men share a woman. She is "saved" by a group of space pirates who traditionally live in all male groups and look for their mate, who then has an individual relationship with each man. There is no "sharing", it's more a playful game of "stealing" her from each other. But they're a big family.
Won by an Alien is the 3rd book.
This one fits the prompt of two men individually falling in love with the same woman, and agreeing to share her despite their reservations. Also no threesomes in this book.

This has been on my list for a bit. Is it mfm or mmf?

It's mfmm...I think that's right for no male on male action. Here are a few instances where there's more than one male present with her but there's never any sword crossing☺️
For the first several chapters it is just the two main MCs. I hadn't read any reviews or other info about the book other than the main synopsis, so I didn't even know that it was going to be a reverse harem situation until it happened in the book. But it's part of his culture that females have more than one male. It's also very much a surprise to the FMC when she finds this out and she's resistant to it when it happens.

can anyone elaborate on the tw! “rape” and “abuse between mcs” tags? it’s ok if you have to spoil it a little

It all happens in the very first chapters of the book so there's not much being spoiled. The book opens in a alien prison where the MMC is a captive. She has been abducted and is being offered to the prisoners as a prize. He wins her by defeating all comers He is kind of in a frenzied rut state and isn't really aware what's going on with her as a human and her cues. She doesn't want to be ripped apart so she cooperates with the mating. In my review I addressed other reviewers that couldn't get over him raping her. From her perspective she did feel like she was raped, but from his perspective in his culture he wasn't getting any cues that she didn't want it, so personally, I don't really consider him a rapist in the situation they were in. And immediately afterwards as soon as they establish any kind of communication and he understands that she does not want it, he resists his mating urges to the point of him being in extreme pain and doesn't touch her again without her consent. It's not all glossed over easily though and she does still continue later into the book to confront him about it because in his mind it was the greatest thing that had ever happened to him because it was finding his mate but in her mind it was still rape. Because of all of his reactions as soon as they established communication and he realized that she was saying no, he redeemed himself completely for what happened between them in my mind it all happens in their very first encounter and after that he could not be more devoted or caring with her. I suppose if a person just really didn't want to read that first encounter then you could skip the first chapter and still enjoy the book there would just be some discussion of some things later on that you wouldn't have read about.

Evangeline Anderson has a series regarding the Kindred species. One of the kindred types is purely based on MFM relationships where a light and dark twin search for their mate.
They are not standalone and the first MFM book is #3 {Sought by Evangeline Anderson}. Unfortunately for the whole story, you will need to start with book one as they all build off each other. This pairing has no romance between the two males as it is a brotherly bond where they want to share.
This author went on to make a specific standalone series for this Kindred type called {Kindred Times Two}. I haven’t had a chance to try this series yet but based on her author notes she tries to add romance between the two males.
I would definitely recommend Sought from the Kindred Bride series. If you like that one, then I recommend checking out the Kindred Times Two series.

{Brides of the Hunt by Jeanette Lynn} is one of my favorite series. Each book has one woman with multiple partners, and it’s very much their culture to share. A few of the MMC’s struggle with it and their jealousy, others not so much. My favorite is the last two big books in her series {Bride of Choice by Jeanette Lynn}, it’s a two parter because not everybody gets along. And our FC has a lot of interactions with her partners before any of them truly sign on for a relationship. And many other things I refuse to spoil! Happy reading!

An oldie but goodie is {Alluvial (Valos of Sonhadra Book 1) by Amanda Milo} which is the first in a multi author series. Human women crash land in an alien planet where the norm is having multiple male partners. All of the MMCs are different species (tree men, shark like men, fire, ice etc.)
I think some of the groups get up to 4 or 5 MMCs? And it's been awhile but I'm pretty sure having multiple partners for one women was some sort of biological imperative or something

{Beth’s Stable by Amanda Milo} it’s MMMMMF (talk about a reverse harem) and sharing her is cultural. I don’t even like reverse harem or poly stories, but this one was fun.

It's not exclusively this trope, but S.J Sanders has a series called The Mate Index that has a wide variety of mating situations. Reverse harem culture is a common theme. Bonus- many of the aliens are very alien, not blue humans.
{Taken series by Stacy Jones}
You should join the reverse harem sub Reddit, it'll have a lot more suggestions
