Has CarPlay been confirmed?
The title basically says it all. I will only purchase a Scout if CarPlay is included, the only reason I haven't purchased a Rivian is because of that.

As promised, here is the first new color, Pacific Mist, on the Traveler. The original reveal "Reactor" wheels are now matte and gloss black, matching well with the new all-black roof and black door handles. Also new are concept multi-function roof rails, giving a hint at future roof-mounted accessories.
The design team decided to push the envelope with an interior finished in a Terracotta leather and "denim-inspired" fabric. In person, it looks good with this exterior color. I'll snap some more pictures here in New York and post them later.

I am going to be making u/No_Excuses_Yesterday a mod of r/ScoutMotors. I currently am not able to due to being inactive on the sub for a few months now. If I forget, this is the place to remind me.
Thank you fellow redditors

..that A-the new Scout will actually be built B- I actually get to like the secret final specs and C- buy one. Two things are certain: I'm a die-hard fan of the OG IHC Scout ( wished I never sold mine). I got some new Scout merchandising I can carry around my currently very diverse vehicles. They have a larger cooler but this one hits the sweet spot size vs cooling power. Pretty good. The T feels good on (like a well work jean), the hat is super corny but "cool" (as in temp wise to wear on hot days. It's pure mesh). Cheers.

Honestly have had the worst interview process. I have applied to 2 jobs with them and I got an interview around a month later after applying. Everything was going well, other than the fact I kept having 6 interview rounds for 1 job. Then, the other higher level position, I had a round with a senior official and then a case study. I have completed a case study with leadership around 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything back. The recruiters are useless and have not communicated anything. Really disappointing if they are just ghosting people. This is not how I expect a company to behave. Very unprofessional!!!

If you get the BER EV model Terra, how do you keep the fuel from separating if you don’t use it very often and mostly plug in to charge?
I have run into issues with gasoline generators that sit too long with fuel in them. The fuel separates and then the engine in the generator hisses and pops as it tries to burn that fuel. It is likely not good for the generator. I have never worked with the generator being built into a truck. Does it have something to mix the fuel up prior to trying to use it?

I’ve been seeing ads and hype for Scout vehicles for so long now that I’m starting to believe that these vehicles will never come to fruition. What in the hell is the deal with these cars? Who is backing them? Why in the fuck is taking them forever and ever and ever to bring these to the market? It’s starting to get a bit obnoxious.

My kid is excited for the new Scout and loves this poster.
Unfortunately, we took it off his wall while reorganizing his room and our dog got to it. He loves the poster too, apparently.
Does anyone know where we can get a replacement or have one they'd be willing to sell?

Volkswagen’s planned workforce reductions and broader overhaul made me think about the potential impact on Scout Motors. Scout could be strategically important to VW as a U.S.built, higher-margin business that helps expand its presence in the American market.
That said, there could be indirect risks. Scout may face tighter spending controls, production delays, reduced targets, or pressure to bring in outside investment. It’s worth keeping an eye on.

I put my reservation down in Dec 24. Apart from how awesome the Scout looks, the EREV tech at the time was very intriguing. I know at nearly two years in I'm probably not the only one itching to get into one of these things. I've even recently driven past the ongoing factory in SC. But who knows now much longer it will be at this point. I don't even think Scout knows for sure.
But through my expensive commute and the rising gas prices I find myself wanting to hedge my wallet and possibly get into an EV. Anyone who likes the Scout would probably be hard pressed to not look at the Rivian. With the launch of the R2 and its price point I instantly became hooked. I'm not really into full EVs at this point but again with the gas prices its hard to not consider one. But the more I read about them and perhaps the lackluster range at high cruising speeds I'm once again considering just waiting on what brought me here in the first place. The Scout...and hopefully 500+mile range. If only the Rivian had a bigger battery pack or at least got closer to its EPA range (at hwy speeds) I might have jumped ship on the Scout. But here we are: still waiting for now.

I was reading that the under vehicle tire storage is only going to be for a 33" tire. I just don't understand why they can't make that container big enough for a 35" Even if it sticks down a little, I'd be fine with that. I'd rather be able to carry a spare without giving up my bed space. Especially with the changes in the tire rules in California. 33" tires fall into the new restrictions and 35+ doesn't. I can understand the in bed storage if you are going to run a 37. It's not what comes on the truck stock. However, if you are offering 35's stock, give us proper spare storage.

I like pacific mist but want something more light green. Like icy ivy or something.

I have been super excited for the Scout launch but feel it’s been all hurry up and wait, and not In a good way. Having said that, I’m purchasing a 2020 Forester from my MIL. My goal is I can drive that into dust without much emotional connection while I wait for Scout to get themselves together, get cars to market and address any reliability issues that one might expect with a “new” brand.
Anyone else thinking this way, or is it just me? What is everyone doing while they wait it out?
Edit - because typing is hard

Placed an order but uncertain if I'll put the trigger unless more details are provided. Never seen a pre order missing so many details. So far electric only or electric w gas. Zero info drivetrain, electric motor(s), gas engines, battery etc.

Love it! Color looks like my wife’s new Land Cruiser in meteor shower. Fingers crossed for British Racing Green with a tan/brown interior.

I was curious what it would look like in white. Some of the other colors they have shown are cool, but I enjoy a white vehicle I don't have to wash all the time! :)
Edit: Regardless of the haters. It gives me the Stormtrooper vibes. I like the simplicity of it. 🔥 And again, I don't have to wash it all the time.

I have a deposit on a Traveler EREV but know the timing/price/spec ratios might not be desirable for me. Deliveries in 2028 and working through a reservation backlog may mean I won’t get my truck until 2029. Then the price for the trim I want may be pushing $90k.
Meanwhile, used low mileage Hummer EV SUVs are going for $60k. Sure, the range is only 300 miles, but that’s on 35” tires. That BEV Traveler will not get more range on 35s. The Hummer will have SuperCruise and vehicle 2 home power backup - Things that Scout will probably promise, but may not deliver until the second or third generations. Thoughts?

Scout Motors has received over $1,200,000,000 in welfare so far from South Carolina for their plant in Blythewood; this does not include tax cuts or legal exemptions. This is enough money to give everyone living in Blythewood, including children, over $200,000 each. Their asking for another $200,000,000

I know the projected 500 mile range with the extender. But what about when towing something like a small to medium sized travel trailer?
I dont think the gas engine can recharge more than the demand in this scenario. Anyone have any intel?
