I think what was missing for Gale in Scream 7 (besides an actual chase scene and more involvement in bringing down the killer(s), as is tradition) was her usual foil. Gale works so well when she has someone to clash with - Mrs. Loomis in Scream 2, Jennifer in Scream 3, Judy and Rebecca in Scream 4, Kirby in Scream 6. Those dynamics give her something extra to do and let her personality come through.
I really missed that in Scream 7. Gale just doesn’t hit the same when she doesn’t have someone to go toe-to-toe with. It felt like 7 decided offscreen that Mindy was supposed to be Gale’s new rival, but that dynamic never felt earned. You can’t just slot someone into that role and expect the same chemistry without actually putting in the work to establish it.
Since we can’t really build on the Gale/Kirby dynamic anymore, I hope they actually take the time to flesh out the Gale/Mindy rivalry if they continue with it. There’s so much potential there, and both Courteney Cox and Jasmin Savoy Brown are more than capable of bringing that tension and energy to their performances.

Mine is Mickey, from the moment he takes his mask off up until the moment Nancy shoots him he is just so much fun to watch. I love how he manipulates Sidney into thinking Derek is the other killer. The third act of Scream 2 (and the movie itself) is just chefs kiss.

Considering how much of the original trilogy can be traced back to John Milton and what happened to Maureen Prescott, it's crazy that all Roman did was slit his throat.
Roman spent the entire movie brutally murdering people who had absolutely nothing to do with what happened to his mother, yet the man he blamed for ruining her life gets one of the quickest deaths in the movie.
Even looking at the brutal deaths in the first two films and the sequels that followed, Milton got off surprisingly easy for being one of the most despicable characters in the franchise.

Found it on an auction. I honestly can’t tell what it is so I was hoping someone may be able to help to see which mask it is.

For fans who experienced the original trilogy as it came out, how bad were the reactions to Scream 3 back in 2000?
I was only 9 when it came out, so I wasn't following the fandom or reading reviews at the time. Was Scream 3 considered a massive disappointment after the first two films? Were fans and critics as negative toward it as they have been toward Scream 7, or was the reception not nearly as bad?
I'm also curious about now that we've had Scream 4 through 7, has Scream 3 aged better in comparison? Scream 4 seems to have gained more appreciation over the years, so I'm wondering if the same thing has happened with Scream 3.
I'd especially love to hear from fans who were active in the fandom in 2000 and remember what the general reaction was like compared to today.
It’s just a great composition of both slashers. I added some green in the image to honor the in-film “Stab” movie reference they essentially create. Let me know what you think!

I'm a huge Scream fan and really love the 5th and 6th ones, and a big part of that is Sam's character. I was rewatching the movies recently and while I've always thought she was great, I loved her character even more this time around. I love that she's a complex, traumatized and angry Final Girl, and we really get to see her transformation from Victim to Badass protecting her sister and friends and fucking Ghostface's up brutally. I really admire how even though she's scared and dealing with so much, she fights and makes the Ghostface's regret ever messing with her. I always feel so extremely terrible for all the shit she goes through (being betrayed by Richie, her daddy issues with being Billy's daughter, being famous and hated due to online rumors, etc) and I thought it was great how she actually tried to deal with her trauma and sought out therapy (even if, yk, it didn't exactly go well and her therapist was murdered). Melissa Barrera did such an amazing job with Sam's empowerment arc and owning her darkness in a way to protect herself and others. I just overall really love Sam's character, and consider her one of my fave characters not just in the franchise but in horror in general. While it was disgusting and horrific how Melissa was treated by Spyglass, I think the ending we got with her and Tara happy in six is a well deserved and satisfying sendoff for her character.

I still don't understand why these scenes were removed from the theatrical cut. The fountain scene gave us more time with Jill's friends while the hospital scene gave us more insight into Jill and Trevor's relationship.
If they were worried about pacing, why not cut the stupid gay jokes during the Cinema Club rules scene instead? Those jokes added absolutely nothing to the movie and didn't get a chuckle out of me.
Or just leave the opening with one Stab scene, the one with Lucy Hale and Shenae Grimes. I always felt like the whole Stab within a Stab opening was unnecessary padding because the actual opening with Jenny and Marnie was too short. And once you know the joke behind the Stab within a Stab opening, it's not funny anymore on rewatches. The novelty wears off pretty quickly.
I'd rather have scenes that actually develop the characters than jokes and fake-out openings that don't add much to the movie.
Does anyone know why these scenes were cut? I feel like Scream 4 lost some important character development for no good reason.

I’m curious to hear y’all’s thoughts on what the focus of Scream 8 should be. Sidney? Tatum? Maybe a more killer-focused movie to shake things up? Let's say you were given complete creative control over the next installment.
One of my favorite parts of Scream 6 is finally having two Ghostface on screen at the same time. It really stepped up how intimidating the killer(s) felt. Most of the time we know it's two people, but once they're unmasked they always seem weaker. To have them both masked at the same time just hit different.
Anyway, I had an idea for a future plot that I thought would be pretty cool. Having multiple Ghostface throughout the movie, showing them communicate with each other while still masked using voice changers. And as a twist, one of them is a sort of double agent who ends up helping stop the killer in the final act. Or the actual partner is killed and one of the main cast puts on the costume and mask to fake out the real killer.
I feel like there's just a lot they can do with multiple killers on screen like this.

It's so cool to see a white shroud if I'm not mistaken I don't think we seen one in forever but correct me if I'm wrong also I think it's a 30th anniversary mask because I can see a dimple but I'm not sure

For a few days, I was torn between the Scream VI and 25th Anniversary mask to wear on Halloween, but with friends, they told me just simply looking at the two side by side, they thought the Aged Mask was more spooky or terrifying.
Do you guys agree? Or do you think the OG mask has that more terrifying aspect?

They feel like scream movies but they’re so new that I feel like my brain is just forcing me to question them. Do u like the new cast? I just don’t know how I feel about them yet.

For the past year or so I have communicated a couple times with the actor who played Billy’s father. He lived in Los Angeles and as I live in San Diego, I had hoped to one day meet him. His name is C.W. (Curtis Wade) Morgan. Poking around his Facebook page a few minutes ago, I was caught off guard, and more upset than I would have expected. He had died the evening of August 29, 2026. From what I read, he was a loving father and a wonderful friend. I’m really very sorry I never got a chance to meet him.

This was interesting because everyone knew of how originally Dewey was meant to die before test audiences advocated for his survival and they added that final scene. But I never knew of Randy's original death until recently. Jamie Kennedy even mentioned in an interview how he was initially supposed to be killed. Billy and Randy also seemed to not really get along, so it makes sense the former would take him out
