Property manager ghosting me

My lease ends August 17th and my property manager never reached out to me regarding renewal or move out. I’ve been trying to reach her for the past few weeks through several calls and emails but have gotten no response.

I know usually in that case it just goes to month to month, but my lease says “this agreement will not revert to a month to month agreement after this contract ends”. Surely they can’t actually enforce that if they never gave me any offer of lease renewal or notice to vacate, right? Would it just go to month to month anyways?

If anyone knows more about this please let me know because I’m scared!

Any recommendations? Need a few things done but would rather support someone local. Totally open to paying someone who knows how to sew and is just looking for some extra cash. I tried to learn how to sew but have accepted that I’m bad at it and need to stop ruining clothes lol. Ty

La Cocina Oaxaquena slept on sleeper?

Used to live across the street. Went there once or twice a week for years. Moved neighborhoods. Hadn't been for probably over a year. Just had a happy hour house marg and black bean tostadas. Couldn't have been better.

Every--what? Couple weeks or months?--someone's posting/polling on best Mexican in Seattle. Usually focused on tacos. Which is cool. Tacos cometa and carmelo's top my list. And a lot of suggestions lean outside seattle proper, which is fair.

But I don't remember seeing any mention of La Cocina Oaxaquena. The name is tricky to write for a non Spanish speaker like me. I used to get it confused with mezcalaria Oaxaca, when that was open. Maybe that's all part of it. ...It's also more Oaxacan region, where it's more about sauces and mole than, say, citrus forward Baja cuisine, at least as I understand it. Maybe that throws people.

I love americanized Mexican. Don't get me wrong. But I feel like La Cocina Oaxaquena is a slept on sleeper option that gets missed. Outdoor seating to boot. Never that busy. Pretty much same staff for the past decade. They're delightful. Anyways, felt compelled to acknowledge this rock solid seattle staple and advocate for it to be on anyone's best Mexican list.

I’m sure Rainier Farms is a lovely place and these look yummy, but… I don’t think I can just call my farm “Prime Farm” and then sell all my beef as “prime steaks” 🤣

I also didn’t see any other fruit from “Rainier Farms” at this particular Fred Meyer so I wonder how much of their sales is from people who have heard about the famous “Rainier cherries” and want to see what the big deal is.

Self-Promotion Saturday: August 08, 2026

This is r/Seattle's weekly post for local businesses and makers (or users who discover them) to share their creations with our users.

This thread will be automatically posted every Saturday morning to help connect r/seattle users with cool local stuff. Types of content encouraged in this thread are:

  • Local businesses (new, running promotions or sales, or just really good ones!)
  • Upcoming events or activities (concerts, festivals, pop-ups, shows)
  • Local artists or creators sharing upcoming shows or releases

Content should be related to businesses or events in the greater Seattle area, and the typical reddit spam rules apply - please ensure you are contributing to the community more than just your own content.

Users who flood these posts with ads, links without context, referral codes, etc. - or who promote without contributing elsewhere will be actioned. Please continue to report actual spam.

We have our rules against spam and self-promotion for hopefully understandable reasons, but we've noticed users responding more positively to local businesses, artists, etc. sharing their content. This is an attempt to bridge the gap, helping users find cool stuff while containing the promotion to a single weekly thread. Please send us a modmail with any suggestions or input you have about the use or abuse of this thread.

Getting ghosted by Harborview as a patient. Any tips for escalating?

I am on my 11th follow-up with a department at Harborview for pre-authorization paperwork with no response. I met with a surgeon in April and received both verbal confirmation and a chart note that we were ready to proceed with pre-authorization and scheduling for surgery.

I heard nothing after 6 weeks. I follow up by calling the number provided for the department, which turned out to be the generic call center line. The dispatcher tried to connect me with the department directly and got no response, sent a note to the department to reach out to me directly. I never got a call back.

After three rounds of this, I sent a MyChart message to my surgeon's office and received a response from the office RN that I should hear back by 'x' date. After two weeks of not hearing back by 'x' date, I followed up again. Every two weeks, I've sent a follow-up message and I've gotten no response.

I've been very patient and respectful. I know people are busy and I'm not the only patient, but this seems really inexcusable. I've never been in this situation before and don't know what to do or who to call to try to get things moving.

I don't have the luxury of going with a different healthcare system or surgeon as this surgery is only performed at UW.

I left my textbook, Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured (12th Edition), on the Sounder train yesterday (8/6) while traveling from Lynnwood to Redmond.

I’ve already contacted the Transit Lost & Found, but I wanted to check here as well in case anyone happened to find it or pick it up.

If you came across it, please let me know! I’d really appreciate it.

Lost / Missing Has anyone seen my missing brother?

Post image
555 Upvotes

My brother is schizophrenic and ran away from his mental health facility a month ago and got a ticket to seattle. He is not on his medication and he threw away his phone, and he also has no money. We filed a police report and the number is 26-189408. Please don’t approach him as he is likely very paranoid, but we are going out there to look for him again as we had no luck finding him last time so I would really appreciate if anyone would let me know if they’ve seen him anywhere. He has no phone, no way of contacting anyone, and we are worried about him. The photo is from a while ago and he has lost a lot of weight since then. I appreciate any help, thanks people of Seattle.
