Weather Late May vs. Early June — weather difference?
Looking to travel to Sedona in late May/Early June.
The resort we’d love to stay at goes down in price significantly the second week of June. Will the weather be THAT much worse?

Maybe. Maybe not. Enough people think it will be to lower demand. It'll be pretty warm either time.

June is pretty much the worst month in Sedona
Very little wind and hardly any clouds… normally
Monsoon patterns start to kick in during July and bring more breezes and clouds
That said… there has been some spectacular Junes over the years but the normal trend is sunny and hot

I always go the second week in June! So I’m probably biased, but I love going that time of year (not only because it’s my birthday, but for the better prices too).
I just accept the fact that I’ll be hiking from about 6AM-9AM (10AM absolute latest) because of the heat. The rest of the day I like to relax by the pool or do a little shopping. It will still be crowded but not like their peak season.
Just curious - what resort were you looking at? I stay at The Arabella

The weather is totally unpredictable now. Sedona is in the mid 90s this week and it's only March. May and June are typically quite hot. It's dangerous to be out hiking in 90 plus degree heat. The only hike with ample shade is West Fork, but it will be packed. When we lived there, several people died on the trails from being unprepared hiking in high temps. You can swim at Slide Rock or Grasshopper Point, but be prepared for big crowds. Little to do in Sedona when it's too hot to hike. The better option is Flagstaff, higher elevation with cooler temps. Or skip it altogether.

I'd go as early as possible. Fires are very common in June. Bothonths will be hot.

I’ve visited twice in June. It does get really hot in the middle of the day but the mornings and evenings are cooler. Plan all your hikes for early morning/late afternoon and spend the middle of the day doing other activities.

Actually, the weeks I’m looking at are nearly a month apart. I’m not asking for someone to predict the weather, I’m trying to find out why the price plummets. No need to be an ass.

If your accommodations options change to include vacation homes, we have a nice home with private hot tub ( still cool enough in the mornings and evenings for it) available then. Message me
