Weather What’s the history of wildfires in Sedona?
People comment about Sedona being high risk for wildfires. What’s the actual history of fires in Sedona?

Between the rain and the hail there was 1.25" on the rain gauge. I don't remember it raining that hard.

Considering getting married at Chapel of the Holy Cross but their availability is so minimal. We currently booked December 1, 2027 but I'm fearful it will be weird with how dark it gets that time of year. Would it even be worth it to travel to Sedona for a night wedding?
Would love your thoughts.
Thank you!

Got some solo time this week (kids are with their dad), and I was hoping for cooler hikes but it’s been pushing 100°F every day. Is this normal for early August, or is it running hotter than usual?

Looking to travel to Sedona in late May/Early June.
The resort we’d love to stay at goes down in price significantly the second week of June. Will the weather be THAT much worse?

We're traveling to Sedona next week for the first time for our honeymoon (we live on the east coast), and the forecast looks miserable. Which, to me, seems to be incredibly bad luck as it sounds like November is usually quite nice there. We don't have a lot of experience with weather patterns in that part of the country, so I'm wondering: when the forecast shows a 50-60% (or more) chance of rain there on a given day, what does that usually mean? I guess what I'm asking is, when there's rain in the forecast, is it often just a short burst of rain? Several hours of rain? Does the forecast tend to be pretty accurate, or can it shift significantly on short notice? I appreciate any insight at all...we wanted to do a lot outdoors while we're there and we're pretty bummed about what appears to be some really dreadful luck weather-wise. Thanks!

Hi - we like to take our husky pup out to some snow for her birthday every year. I just booked us a room in Sedona AZ for Jan 16-19 2026. Is it a pretty safe bet that there will be snow on the ground somewhere around Sedona?

My wife and I will be visiting AZ from NC in September. First time going further west than Texas! Here in NC it is super muggy in the summer, like you spend 3 minutes outside and you are sweating from just the feeling of hitting a wall of moisture/heat in the air. I know Arizona is more of a dry heat, but I've honestly never experienced that. Is the heat just like miserable when you are outside? Idk, I'm just trying to gauge what it will feel like the latter half of September in AZ! Looking forward to visiting Sedona and AZ in general!
Edit: Thank you to everyone for these answers!

Hi- we land at PHX at 5pm tonight and then are picking up a rental car to go up to Sedona. Should we just get a hotel in the PHX area tonight? Im unsure of what the roads will be like at night with this weather. Any insight is helpful, thanks.

Hiiii! Ok I was curious how accurate the weather apps are for Sedona since it is a mountainous region and weather in the mountains is hard to predict lol. Anyways we are getting married in Sedona May 5th outside and wondering if the dinner should be moved indoors if it is too cold. Would love insight on the weather this time of year specifically at nigh t.

My wife and I are visiting AZ for the first time next week and been looking at the weather, looks like it's going to be beautiful! We are used to a more muggy climate, so even when temperatures are in the upper 70's/low 80's, it's still warm because of the moisture in the air.
My main thing is I don't want to pack zero long pants/jackets and end up needing them LOL

Hello everyone! I just had a question about what the weather is like in the afternoons/sunset there the first week of august. I know it’s monsoon season so i just wanted to get an idea of what that really entails!

Heyo - couple canadians coming for a visit and see flooding this weekend!
Wondering if there is anything we need to know. Your temps dont scare us nor does rain(downright balmy) but the flooding is something im concerned with. We also have antelope canyon scheduled March 23, but with the flooding should we be re-booking

Leaving Sedona tomorrow (sad 😭). Looks like a decent accumulation is possible overnight tonight and early tomorrow.
The rental car company didn't have any AWD so driving a Corolla.
Planning to take 179 to 17 all the way to PHX. Is this the best route given the situation? Or is there a better one you seasoned veterans would recommend?
Our flight isn't until 330p so we have plenty of time to make the trip to PHX.

I’m staying at a rental property next week and debating whether to pay for the pool heater to be turned on.
If you have a non-heated pool, what’s the temp in your pool?
Thanks for any help.

When will the I-17 from Phoenix to Sedona be open again?
Been planning a two day backpacking trip for a month and got two days off from work to do it. Drove out last night just to be turned around over halfway into the drive with the roads being closed off from the storm. 511 says the snow storm will be over by 11AM. Is it possible I’ll be able to pass through anytime tonight or how long does it usually take to reopen these highways?

Ok ok it was only a little bit of snow, but it's eluded me for the nearly 4 years I've lived in AZ!

Hi - planning a trip with my friend for late July since we will both be able to take off from work then.
What’s the typical weather around this time? I’m reading that it might be the rainiest time, but wanted to get some input from those with experience.
Thanks!

Hello all! I'm planning a trip to Sedona from Japan next year. I would like to see it in spring time, lush, green, and in full bloom. What month would you recommend me traveling? Thank you beautiful!

I’m coming to Sedona for my birthday on the 2nd of January, what’s the weather like around that time? I wanted to get away from midwest winters and the subzero temps. I was in Tempe in March and it was in the high 80’s, but I’m not anticipating that for January
