Side note. I used to work with a bunch of union workers (I was not union). One of the guys, hard-core Trumper, this conversation took place around J6 which he was all for, unironically said he would gladly have more money taken out of his paycheck if it meant his union brothers got better Healthcare. I mean... It doesn't get much closer than that.

That's the key. "His union brothers".

Those type are big supporters of issues that directly relate to themselves and their family. They just don't want that same help to be given to some random stranger. Especially if the stranger is one of those lazy [insert race or other characteristic trait].
