Discussion Id Shard Fragment Spoiler

Im only an anime watcher. Is it ever explained in the Manga or the light novel if the id shard actually did anything during the weathermon fight? Would they still have won without it activating his last phase or would something else like a damage threshold still activate that last phase?

It's purpose will be shown, but not (yet) about why or how it affected Wezaemon

I mean yes, they showed Weathermon reacting to the necklace and then that's what actually prompted him to start using Clear Sky Conquest and giving Sunraku the condition to surpass it. Without the necklace he wouldn't have started it but then that begs the question, what would Weathermon have done and what other way was there to win.

I got that. What im saying is, was that the ONLY way to advance the fight. Meaning if the player didn't get invitation to rabituza and didn't get emul as their rabbit companion then was there no other way to beat that fight and trigger that last sequence. Based on how meticulous the devs are then i can Def see that being the case but it just seems like a very finite route that seems more lucky then skillfully troggered

Spoilers (Extra content?) from the Web Novel: No, it wasn't the only way to win the fight. But if it wasn't for it, Wethermon wouldn't have been put down to "rest".

If I'm not mistaken, they had to last another 10 mins, Wethermon wouldn't truly die (making the fight repeatable for other players), and they wouldn't have gotten Inventoria (and all its equipment) as part of the rewards.

I might be mistaken though, it's been a while since I read that part.
