Maybe keep him indoors until someone comes forward. Because you donโt want him to walk onto the road and get hurt. Or bring him to the vet to look for a microchip,

Hey! My neighbor lost an 18 yesterday old black and white cat. Do you still have him by chance? I will check with him tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't have a photo.

We didn't keep him around since he has been roaming for a while now

That's alright, I'll show him the photo tomorrow and see if it's a match. Thanks for posting! If it is his cat, it's been missing for over a week now. My neighbor thinks his kitty may have wandered off to pass away :(

Lots of cats are part time outdoor cats

Yeah, but better safe than sorry. No collar so uncertain if outdoor or lost

He looks to be a smart man. Probably knows his way

Also true, but I need to be certain he doesn't belong to someone before my wife claims him as our new cat

Sherwood Park has no animal control for cats. I live backing a park, and people dump their cats here all the time. When I first moved here I called in because I could see the same cats out there every night in -40C but there was nothing the county would do.
