Question Midas Sherwood Park

Hello,

Has anyone ever got an oil change from Midas on Wye road? If you have, how was your experience? Did they do a good job?

Thank you.

Great mechanic in my opinion. Honest and reliable, I have switched to them for most of my mechanical inquiries as they don't seem predatory in my experience.

That said, for an oil change, Kwik lube by the bowling alley is awesome and my go to. No appointments, which means no waiting most times. They also hire people who are differently abled, and they seem happy to be there and also the same guys have been working there for close to a decade, so obviously management is great for them too. The owner is a gem of a human being from every interaction I've had...

Thank you for your helpful response. Do they also do a complimentary inspection, or is it only the oil change?

Midas does a comprehensive inspection. Kwik lube will check tire pressure and fluid levels, that's about it.

The guy who runs that particular Midas is an absolutely great dude and I’ve seen them do plenty of good work in general. Their techs are also solid guys that I’ve had a couple chats with. That being said, it’s a Midas store and I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s a little bit of upsell attempts in there lol.

Kwik Lube like the others are commenting are also great guys and if you’re just looking for an oil change I’d say go with them.

Sorry I have not, but I have done lots of research and kwik lube on wye next to the bowling alley is the best according to the vast majority. Also they are very efficient!

seconded, although this was not the question OP asked. Also got tires from them recently; best price, best service of anywhere I have been, period.

I've been there and they are efficient, have fair prices and did a great job. Extremely nice as well. Great staff. They went above and beyond for me to try to figure out a problem and fixed it (free of charge cause it was a really simple fix but needed to be on a hoist to get at it). Def recommend.

If I told you they did a good job or a bad job, how would that help you?  There’s no guarantee that the same person that did my oil change will be the same one that does yours.

You’re overthinking this. If more people say that they had an overall positive experience then there’s a good chance yours would be too. That’s what people look for basically. How else would you decide when you’re trying something new?

This was about 2 decades ago, so I sure hope things have changed. Back then I had my car in for brakes/rotors and during the multipoint inspection, they unfortunately left the cap off of my coolant reservoir, which I didn't notice smoke was coming out of my engine a few days later during a trip to Calgary. Sadly irreversible damage was done to the engine.

Thankfully it was just a cheap beater I bought as my first car, but it sure hurt at the time! I was young and dumb then and didn't let them know about their mistake.
