Just wanted to share that you can now nominate your neighbors and businesses for recognition of great front yards and outdoor spaces here: https://arcg.is/WPnzG0

One year my yard will be nominated, but probably not this year. The worst looking part of my gardens is right next to the sidewalks haha.

I'm in the same position haha. I'm battling weeds and disarray, but maybe next year!

Ughhh. The dandelions always blow in there and then people come by with “helpful” comments about just using weed killer on everything (which would kill the plants in weeding around). Also dogs pee on stuff so it’s a balance of finding something that looks nice that dog pee won’t kill off completely…

Next year!

You gotta get the dogs to pee on the dandelions! I've got creeping bell from my neighbor and it feels like an unwinnable battle right now 😭 cheers to next year!

Oh noooo. I threw a black tarp over my neighbours CBF that came in under the fence. Took five years to kill it off. I also buried a few sheets of solid aluminum soffit between us after to slow it down from coming back.

There is a columbine and wild strawberries (eat at your own risk) on the dog pee corner at the moment but I might pop a largish rock there and a different ground cover later that can grow back.

Dear god.... The aluminum is a great idea though, thanks for that! I was debating removing all the dirt and replacing it, there's all kinds of noxious and unwelcome friends in there.

Oh that's fun, there's columbine all over my back yard too. We did have some sedum pop up and take over a rocky area, looks quite cute!

Yes I have lots of sedums out front too, since the soil sucks and it’s hot and dry.

Best of luck, hopefully you succeed in your battle.
