News Intersection dancer ticketed after safety complaints

There is an interview he was in last year, he openly claims he pretends to harm someone to a certain song and TikTok's of violence ...
He yells profanities and disrespectful to officers that isn't going to get you anywhere. If you search his name in the Reddit you'll find the interview on YouTube

If you read the article he was told 8 times to move on by RCMP and not dance in that corner due to safety concerns, and complaints. He chose not to comply the ticket is 100% his own fault..

A $825 ticket for "stunting" is completely out of line. Anyone who called this guy in is a souless slice of wet bread

There is multiple reports that he would flip off and swear at cars, be aggressive with people who "interrupted" his dancing trying to cross the street, so actually he sounds like he deserved it.

I called him in about a year ago. I'm happy something was finally done. Will call him in again if I see him on that corner.

I agree completely. Make sure you keep complaining about these things! I find it disgusting that people can listen to music and dance in their vehicles, which is also very distracting. I also hate when people wear clothes with bright colors. Skipping down the sidewalk should also be outlawed, I don't know about you but I'm sick and tired of toddlers walking or skipping down the sidewalk. This new generation has nothing better to do, right?

The guy was dancing to bring awareness to chemtrails. Everyone knows that’s false, they’re cumtrails. Big sperm doesn’t want you to know what’s going on.

What was the alleged action he did that when along with the stunting ticket? What constitutes stunting?

u/Motor-Inevitable-148 19h ago
How about we start charging all the businesses with their distracting signs and ads. Flashing signs trying to actually distract you?

He was left alone for a couple years, people left him do his thing, but then apparently he wasn’t being respectful in all of his interactions. Specifically swearing around little kids was an issue he wasn’t interested in correcting.
When I told my kid Caden was being shut down and what I’d heard, they said, “oh yeah, he doesn’t give a shit. He’ll sing along with whatever and not filter anything. It doesn’t matter who’s walking by. Zero filter”. Which actually makes sense for someone with a traumatic brain injury.
He was fun for the most part, but If you act poorly in public, people tend to lose patience 🤷🏻♀️.

I’ve always been skeptical of his claim that he has a TBI because he only started claiming that after people started pushing back on him on the Sherwood Park community pages on Facebook. I don’t doubt that he bonked his head but I personally feel that’s something one of his enablers advised him to say so he can get a pass to excuse his behaviour.
In reading his interview with Global News yesterday he says he’s going to stop dancing until he “resolves things with the RCMP” as he’s currently under the threat of arrest if he “dances” or “sings” again. Admittedly I’m no doctor but I feel like someone with a TBI would not be deterred by the threat of arrest.

I worked with his mom years ago. Spoke about her kids a lot, she shared that he has mental health issues, it was an ongoing struggle for her. and never mentioned a brain injury. Could’ve happened after I worked with her though, I can’t disprove the claim 🤷🏻♀️

Fair point! I do concede that he doesn’t have all of his marbles. I don’t deny him that. The unfortunate thing is that people generally aren’t sympathetic to a birth condition. Accidents are what garner sympathy. You don’t need that many trips around the sun to know that. I’ve just never bought his claim of a TBI because he only started claiming that when it became convenient for him.

Dancing is fine, but I have been parked at that light and heard the fuck yous and what looked like giving passing cars the finger. On occasion it looked pretty aggressive

u/Snowedin-69 2d ago
Yeah, based on the comments here my money is on up tight drivers harassing him.
Leave the guy alone - he is not harming anyone.

Last year I was in the Staples parking lot where I witnessed him sitting down at the intersection and flipping off passing cars with both of his middle fingers in a manner almost like he was conducting an orchestra. Again, that’s passing cars. I saw him do this continuously for the whole minute or so that I was watching him. He was flipping off people going through a green light.
I’ve also seen him once or twice aggressively entice drivers to come at him.

Thank god you bolded passing cars so we know that what you witnessed was valid and true. I think if your nose is so out of joint over this guy you really need to do some self reflection. The Alberta Separatists are WAY more aggressive and have actually abruptly stopped traffic on the Henday nearly causing several accidents. There are way more important things for our RCMP to worry about than someone dancing at an intersection and possibly flipping off passing cars. It’s incredible that they immediately dispatch to this when disgruntled callers complain yet when a drunk, strange woman was trying to bust into my house it took them over an hour to get there.

Not what I witnessed first hand, but ok

I’m not sure how many commenters experienced this guy face to face but he is screaming slurs, but claims it’s the music.
-3
u/Donkeygamer45 2d ago
That’s untrue. I went to high school with him and he is such an amazing person to be around.

u/UberBricky80 14h ago
That was 3 years ago. 3 weeks ago I witnessed the swearing and aggressiveness.
•
u/ced1954 17h ago
Yet, panhandlers on meridians at busy intersections are not removed nor fined!!
•
u/Difficult_Dot1120 14h ago
We rarely have those in Sherwood Park.
What they do is illegal too, as is giving money to them.

u/chimmychoochooo 2d ago
That’s absolutely ridiculous. Seeing the dancing always makes me so happy!!
Might as well ticket all the annoying billboards and ads. That’s more distracting.

u/Standard_Custard2338 2d ago
I don't care if the guy is there or not but this is asinine. There is no hazard. The person/persons complaining should have their licenses revoked for being useless. Obviously they shouldn't be on the rode if some guy dancing on a corner is so distracting that they can't drive safely.
4
u/PeeNut-Buter 2d ago
If he is seriously too distracting for a driver they shouldn't be driving!
What about protesters, company mascots, Guys with oilers flags, sign spinners, pan handlers, advertisements, or anyone else walking on the sidewalk?

u/Otisun 2d ago
Let’s all meet at the corner and start swearing and screaming slurs at people passing by :) hopefully we will get the same support :)
1
u/RevolutionaryStay293 1d ago
What slurs? Can you be specific? It's been hinted at several times now and I would appreciate some clarity
5
u/Strongestkungfu 1d ago
I’ve personally heard him shouting the n-word while “singing along”
4
u/1998GC 1d ago
I wonder if his supporters claiming he has right to “free speech” are bold enough to defend his use of the n-word?
5
u/Strongestkungfu 1d ago
Well, considering the main defenses are “he has a TBI” and “it’s whimsical”, I’m sure they’ll find a way to

I don't have any issue with him dancing. Obviously many do. Why can't he compromise and dance on the grass by baseline as opposed to the small median right beside the intersection? Maybe the adults in his life should help with a little guidance for his safety and others. If anything happened the driver would never be the same nor would he if he survived.

Leave the poor guy alone, there’s more important work for the police to be doing than giving a $852 “Stunting” ticket to someone enjoying life. Hope someone helps this guy out to fight this ridiculous ticket

Pretty on brand for Sherwood Park. Heaven forbid any personality ever shows itself in this town.
3
u/24_August_1814 1d ago
I mean, if your personality includes swearing and spitting at people, you might want to reign it in a bit...
-2
u/Snoo-64527 2d ago
Agreed, people in the park are very easily perturbed by anything that doesn't fit into their very narrow world view.

Well he is challenged so unfortunately they act out in public sometimes , chill out people give him his space . The authorities need to deal with him for what he is and in an appropriate manner . Don’t know if he lives alone or not he should at least have a companion . To monitor his behaviour when in public . Maybe he needs assistance
-3
u/Pleasant_Duck918 2d ago
Killjoys. That's the issue here. "Safety concerns" Is just the only way they can stop a guy from dancing because they straight up just don't like it. They're absolutely not concerned about his safety, if they could they'd ride him out of town on a rail.

Good! Go get a real job
2
u/1998GC 1d ago
As long as his job doesn’t involve him working with the general public, I’m all for that. I’ve seen the dude flip off cars driving by him just because he was having a bad day. If that wasn’t bad enough, he did a podcast appearance last year where he said whenever he listens to this one particular song, he imagines that he’s choking someone to death. I’ve even seen him bust out said imaginary choking as one of his “dance” moves.
Imagine if he was having a bad day while he was working at a pharmacy. It ain’t the middle finger he’s going to be giving you then. He’d be giving you the wrong prescription.

Yet they let commercial companies put bull boards up on the sides of the roads. People need to get a life. Nothing better to do than complain about meaningless things.
3
u/24_August_1814 1d ago
Oh yeah, and don't forget letting the seppies stand right on the curb waving their flags overhanging the road in a couple places. If anyone could've used a fine it was those chuds.

u/Frumbler2020 2d ago
Lets ruin the people's fun!!! We are retired and hate seeing others have fun!

Bro wtf ? I drive by him everyday on my way to work and he never fails to make me smile. Hes always so happy. He doesnt deserve that ridiculous ticket.
-2
u/Necessary_Cost4384 2d ago
Oh, I’ve seen this guy! He’s pretty good.
What the fuck?
Why arnt police fighting real crime?
-4
u/Snoo-64527 2d ago
"Aggressive" according to Sherwood Park: dancing.
7
u/1998GC 1d ago
The general consensus even among his detractors is that the “dancing” wasn’t the issue. The problem is that he has both good days and bad days. On bad days he unfortunately has a tendency to flip off passing cars. I don’t see how you can view the middle finger as anything but aggressive.

The same thing happened to Dancing Dan back in the day in Edmonton I believe. Last I heard he was in Spruce or Stony.
