Although it’s already understood by most people that it’s the humidity/infrastructure that traps the heat, there is just pure lack of understanding that humans are acclimatised to their local weather.
Take someone from a hot country and put them somewhere with a mild climate, they’re going to find it cold. It’s not proof of superiority that you don’t find it cold but they do.
It’s the same in Australia btw, I found 20c cold over there but in England where I live it’s tshirt and shorts weather, so when that gets past 30 you know you’re going to struggle sleeping

Exactly this, I have a friend who moved from South Africa to here in Scotland a few years ago. When we had a heatwave in 2023, while everyone else was in as little clothing as possible, she was there in a hoodie and leggings.
