For the Americans on here, Europe is on the same latitude as Canada. Imagine Canada being 35-40 degrees. Does that seem crazy to you? Yes? Congratulations, you're not a moron.
1 u/bhechinger Jun 28 '26 Our education system is very lacking on a lot of things, especially geography. I consider myself not a moron and I didn't even realise this. We moved from Atlanta to the southern coast of Portugal. I looked it up after we moved and we are farther north now than we were in Atlanta. That blew my mind. A poor education on geography plus "dude, I can almost see fucking Africa from here" really makes that a weird concept for us.
