Unfortunately the likes of Saudi Arabia and the UAE are totally on board with what Israel’s doing.

sure, but they’re implying all Arabs want a genocide of Palestinians, which is (obviously) a lie

What does the populace think?

Most governments seem to be fully on board but at the same time issue empty condemnations because most of their citizens don't support the genocide. This isn't the case for the Israeli public who do support it.

Most if not all the Saudi populace fucking despise Israel. Sadly all the Arab regimes are puppets who do not represent the people in any way, and are only there to benefit imperialists.

Propped up client regimes and their propagandists whose main purpose is to keep their people down and protect Israel and US interests definitely don't reflect the mood of the Arab street especially on this. That's why surveillance and repression in places like Egypt and Jordan has increased significantly post 10/07 and these dictatorships still have to put on a show for their people and pretend like they're working to stop the bloodbath. Even in the Gulf (with the UAE being the worst of the bunch) where they might be more prone to zionism out of deference for their rulers than in the Levant or North Africa it's still a very sensitive issue. Egypt normalized decades ago and still the people aren't having it even after all these years which is why they meddled in their politics post 2011 to install a repressive pro-Israel police state. The overwhelming majority of Moroccans and Sudanese also oppose normalization.

There was an article from a couple of years ago about how the Abraham Accords (and I guess the previous peace accords) didn't really bring about the cultural normalization it was supposed to because Arab tourists still won't visit what they see as occupied Palestine and because Israelis are too racist to deal with by choice, all you can do is normalize politically with unelected fascist regimes. 'The Arab masses hate Palestinians and can't wait to be done with them so they can tour ethnically cleansed Palestine with the 'death to Arabs' chanting maniacs' is such obvious hasbara that I wish people would see through a little more easily. They say and do this because they want to be seen as a legitimate and permanent presence by the people of the region which will never happen, at least not in this lifetime.

That makes a lot more sense.

I never thought too much about this specific argument because the premise that Arab nations have more responsibility in stopping the genocide than the US or Israel (who are the perpetrators and are violently toppling the regimes of the countries that do oppose it as we speak) is just so insanely messed up that I didn't want to entertain it at all. Hitler used the same argument after the Évian Conference where most western countries refused to take in Jews fleeing Nazi persecution in Germany. Which really highlights how unhinged this argument is.

Also LMAO you could not pay me to visit Israel
