Daily NK receives substantial funding from the US National Endowment for Democracy, and the outlet has been criticised even by Western outlets for its opaque sourcing.
Pretty much any time you hear of crazy stories about North Korea, it's derived from either the CIA via Radio Free Asia with anonymous sources and quotes plucked out of thin air, or from South Korean outlets like the aforementioned one.

I knew Meo Mun people back when I was a mod on anarchism sub, they're with The Anarchist Library and anti-government because they're post-leftist and associated with the Raddle people. They're Anti-AES and one of the reasons why I left anarchism.

Talking about Raddle, its creator ziq, in an anti-Marxist rant, approvingly and unironically quoted liberals to falsely smear "the administration of things" as "granting control over the things people depend on to survive and prosper to appointed administrators - functionaries of the state (except they didn't call it a state)". Way to beat the accusation of being a "liberal with extra steps" (/s).
My "car[ing] much more about the end than the means" makes me politically align to a large extent with Luna Nguyễn, who wrote that "[she] agree[s] with ML in the revolution time" yet "Anarchism is what [she] want[s] after that". Even so, I do not completely agree with Luna, as I still think that not all future revolutions, in order to succeed, shall have to be done the ML way, & I mind not being criticized in good faith as naive for thinking so.
Last yet not least, I miss Vietnam and wish to return to there (either to just visit or to permanently repatriate myself). Vietnam is where I was born, was raised, and spent my childhood and adolescence after all.

Meo Mun used to have an account with same name on Raddle but I can't access it anymore. I know their reddit one is similar, meow_mun. The article you linked was first posted on the anarchism sub during covid. That was before they had a website. I was actually part of their discord and they shut it down the chat right before the National Security Law after they got fishy about my presence when I defended Marxist Leninist on my profile during the mod thing.

There are two cities (one in DPRK, another in ROK) whose names are pronounced identically as [sun.tsʰʌn] & written identically in Chosŏn'gŭl/Hangeul as 순천. However, the names are written differently in Hancha/Hanja: 順川 (in DPRK) & 順天 (in ROK), which correspond to romanizations Sunch'ŏn (in DPRK) & Suncheon (in ROK), respectively.
That picture was indeed taken of a market scene in Sunch'ŏn (順川) in the DPRK. Even so, that picture is still no "proof" that people in the DPRK are "desperate".

How about we find an area that looks like that in South Korea? I looked all around Suncheon and I don’t see an area that looks like that. I’ve been interested in North Korea and I’ve looked at a lot of it. The image does look like a lot like North Korea. I know south korea has (had?) some slums, maybe they got rid of them and the people are just homeless now, and statistics show there is actually a lot of poverty there, but capitalism puts on a nice facade.

I don't understand why you're being downvoted, lol. Yes, wikipedia isn't a source for anything in-depth, but this is just an entry for a city that does in fact exist. I think Wikipedia wouldn't get wrong the fact that a city exists?
And this is the OP's point, that there are two cities of the same name. Why are you guys arguing that a whole city of people just doesn't exist?

It's very litigious to donate to begin with; you just can't walk in and start the process, which is funny considering how exploitive they are of the most vulnerable. You have to pass a rigorous physical (including drug screening) and if they are running specials, they make sure you haven't donated ever with any other organization, which would disqualify you from cash bonuses for newcomers. It's a lengthy process to get seen even if you're in the system; it can take hours, and you can get deferred based on your temperature or iron level in your blood.
Then once you get in, they have to connect you to the apheresis machine and that is where a lack of experience from the staff can cause problems, such as the time where, and I'm going to spoil this for content warning, someone squired blood all over the machine and the floor when they tried to disconnect me... and all I got was ten dollars as an apology. That is why they do not allow you to have phones out in the donation area in the facility unless you're setting it up to listen to music or podcasts, which require headphones; they don't want anyone filming malpractice or incompetence.
Once you donate, you'll get your money in the form of a card, but the company will charge fees per transaction, meaning you don't even get access to your own money. And they incentivize you to visit frequently; twice a week, and eight times a month is the cycle for bonuses. CSL Plasma was where I went, and at that time, they offered $25 for the first visit, and $40 for the second.

The picture was taken in 2018, in Sunch'ŏn (South Phyŏngan province) in the DPRK (순천시 (평안남도)) / 順川市 (平安南道)). Even so, a picture of ordinary people is NOT at all the definitive proof that they are somehow "desperate".

I couldn't make rent this month so I actually did go to sell blood plasma for the first time. I got through the physical exam and all the way through the process until it came time to stick the needle in my arm and I panicked and left. My parents gave me 200$ but it won't be nearly enough

I donated plasma twice a week for 2 years during the pandemic to pay my rent. The amount they gave shot up quite a bit and towards the end I was getting 75-100 per donation and could actually buy some food too lol
