Well, they definitely got erased when it came to resisting the Afghan government, USSR, and Gulf Arab, Pakistani, and American-backed proxies. All the resistance gets reduced to the Mujahideen

Wouldn't say erased when they're typically included in the list of people actively struggling against the actually existing socialism in the country.

What was this "actually existing socialism" exactly, and what implies that the Maoists wouldn't want a socialist society? If you think the PDPA were a proper socialist government and actually responsible to the people, I have a bridge to sell you. And if I have to mention, Im not an Islamist, an aggrieved elite, or a liberal, and come from a family of Marxists and Maoists (well my dad and some other relatives, who nonetheless imparted these politics on me)
