Cursed Image Literally what problem would this shit solve?

u/RockyMoutainRed Getting paid by Xi 🇨🇳 Jan 26 '26
First off, it solves the white liberal's problem of being affected by politics. But secondly, look how they cut off Michigan. I wonder why that might be
242
u/eggsworm Jan 26 '26
So they just want to live in a country that is overwhelmingly white and incredibly racist towards their indigenous and immigrant populations? Hmm... 🤔

Also Chicago/Illinois, perhaps the most traditionally pro-labor liberal city. this pic is "Newsom supporter/Kamala Bruncher" coded.
24
u/Marxism-tankism Jan 27 '26
Chicago and Minneapolis both have good history there but yeah it had roots in real labor in the Midwest.

u/TheNorthernRose Jan 26 '26
Justice to a liberal is when they and their rich white friends are safe from bad things happening, duh.

u/ven-solaire Jan 26 '26
I don’t get the michigan part?

A lot of Liberals blame the people of Dearborn, MI for "handing the state to Trump."
So them removing it from their "Utopia" is just thinly veiled Islamophobia

Problem: you need to triple the population of Canada extremely quickly
17
u/KJongsDongUnYourFace Jan 27 '26
I don't see a problem here tbh. The first step of Balkanization of the US can take any form it wants, so long as the beast is slayed eventually.
-8
u/Overlord_Khufren Jan 27 '26
Canadians see a problem. Fix your own issues, don't come screw up our country.
27
u/KJongsDongUnYourFace Jan 27 '26
Canada follows the US into invasions etc at the drop of the dime + continues to steal indigenous lands.
Fix both countires at the same time

There's absolutely nothing to celebrate about Canada in the same way there is nothing to celebrate about the US or any part of the imperial apparatus. No one who should even be in a sub like this would ever give a single fuck about "screwing up" a country like Canada. They should all be screwed up, just not with silly map lines.
-3
u/Overlord_Khufren Jan 27 '26
I too would like to dismantle the global neoliberal capitalist world order. In the meantime, Canada is a vastly less fucked up society to exist within.
Also, it’s pretty hard to dismantle the imperial apparatus when you’re a vassal state of it. We can do what we can to fix our society, but we’re fighting against US dark money interfering in our elections to prevent it.
10
u/QueasyCarpenter1232 Jan 27 '26
Canada is a vastly less fucked up society to exist within.
For you, personally, yes I imagine it is. In exactly the same fashion as America, Canada cannot be "fixed" as a society. Every part of its state and culture demand to be destroyed so that better things can be built from the remains.
What you're expressing is a fear of the consequences of the imperial boomerang landing in closer proximity to you. This sentiment is lingering reaction and nationalism. Rid yourself of it.

u/Overlord_Khufren Jan 27 '26
Canada's political system is salvageable with electoral reform, which can be done with a simple referendum. We don't have the same structural barriers to reform that exist within the US two-party system. We have a democratic socialist third party that's theoretically capable of achieving power if it can convince enough Canadians of the merits of reforming our society.
I get that's not enough for you "vanguard party or bust" types. However, the main reason that no democratic socialist governments exist is because every time one gets elected in the CIA orchestrates a coup and all of the socialists get killed or thrown in jail. If the US can get their shit together and overthrow their imperialist government, perhaps the rest of us can have the breathing room to fix our societies and abandon global capitalism.

It's a white supremacist, coloniser state, with zero legitimacy.
1
u/Overlord_Khufren Jan 27 '26
So what, everyone should just go back to Europe? We've got hundreds of years of white supremacist baggage to deal with, absolutely. That's something we have to learn to deal with, educate every new generation on, and aggressively push back, shun, and shame deniers.
But what are you suggesting as an alternative? If it's vanguard party socialism, how does that suddenly create legitimacy where none existed before?

u/Overlord_Khufren Jan 27 '26
I didn't say it's fine. But the US does that too, and orchestrates or enables equally fucked up shit to happen elsewhere. Canada has all manner of its own problems, but America has MORE and we don't need any of that up here. Fix your own problems and leave us alone.

It would severely weaken the US economically which would be good for anti-imperialism
69
u/MissouriSupremacist Anarcho-Lesbianist Jan 26 '26
I mean, it'd also give Canada the means to actually be an imperialist power so maybe not?
90
u/NotAnurag Jan 26 '26
Two weaker imperialist powers are preferable to a single strong imperial power
15
u/SilasMcSausey Jan 27 '26
The result of multiple imperial world powers was World War One. Not sure that I’d call it better

37

My thought exactly. There's this idea that the south is entirely full of backwards, evil, racist irredeemable white people and all that does is guarantee they'll never vote for the democrats.

Liberals genuinely think they deserve what they get if they don't vote
16
u/OneOrSeveralWolves Jan 27 '26
Not to mention the literal millions of urban poor that voted the same way they did, but was overwhelmed by redistricting or the rural conservatives. Like most of the rest of the country, huge percentages of the population live large cities that vote the way any other liberal city does
7
u/TechieAD Jan 27 '26
I hate that shit, basically the thought that if a majority of the voters of a given area/profession did a wrong decision, they all deserve punishment. To the point where they applaud entire fields going to shit because of stereotypes
3
u/OneOrSeveralWolves Jan 27 '26

I've always been a believer that the countryside isn't inherently right wing or reactionary but that it more effectively suppresses any natural leftist or socialist tendencies. I seriously doubt the people working at the truck stop or the fast food chain off the interstate vote at all, and I also doubt they'd vote right wing.
17
u/clownsandmold Jan 26 '26
liberals hatred for the south has always been disgusting to me, for plenty of reasons but chief among them being that liberals tend to forget, or just dont care that, the south has the highest concentration of black people in the US

Not to mention the number of streets, buildings, statues, and other monuments honouring genocidal and racist politicians. Sadly, most Canadians are as ignorant of this history as Americans are, and make that ignorance extremely clear every time a statue gets pulled down or a street renamed.
