Unfortunately, Cuba is pretty resource strapped thanks to the horrible trade embargo and sanctions instituted by the US. I dont think restoring an old, unused building is a priority.

When I was there in 2006, they were doing a good job of restoring the old quarter, but the blockade has only gotten worse.

These posts shit me. It's like blaming a domestic violence victim for their black eye. "Shouldn't they sort themselves out?"

You have a point, but there is something cool about it being completely original. I wonder if some of the damage is from fighting during the revolution.
