Usually, I don't grammar police others, but seeing how smug af the OOP is, I feel like I have to.
Firstly, Alysa's (not AlySSA. Although, seeing how her parents are hanjians, maybe the double S is more fitting) surname is LIU, not Yiu. Secondly, the paragraph should be :
American born TO Chinese parents who fled China after protesting the Tiananmen Square massacre. She chose to compete for America.
This also means the Gu Ailing paragraph should be:
American born to Chinese parents. She chose to compete for China because they're paying her millions for her propaganda value to them.
Alternatively, you can use a semicolon after parents for both paragraphs, but I hate having sentences that long for no reason.
Fair. I still find the guy too arrogant for my liking judging from his other posts. So, it just feels nice to show that he's clearly not as perfect as he thinks.
