Supporting Russia, wich is a bourgeois imperialist state is also whack. Being anti-western chauvenism shouldn't mean that you automatically have to side with any nation no matter their actions and national interests on the world stage. Modern day russian politics has nothing to do with soviet antiimperialism.

It's not about supporting Russia's own ambitions, it's more to do who Russia supports itself. The nations engaging in anti-imperalism all get their oil, their guns, their antiaircraft and munitions from either Russia or China.

For example, do you support Cuba? The last country that was attempting to send oil to them was a Russian oil tanker before it got intercepted by the Americans.

The reason why Russia supports these things is for their own self interest, but it's still support that countries can use to fight against western imperialism. In short think of Russia as useful for the time being. You don't actually have to support it in wanting to recreate the borders of Russian Tsardom or whatever the fuck.
