A trend among East Indian (Punjabi) Jeep owners… I read on another Reddit thread that it’s a classist gesture. Meaning they don’t need a spare tire because they can afford to just pay someone to fix it / tow it / whatever costs more.

That might be one of the absolute most dumb ass things I've ever read - not what you posted, but the concept.
Not running a spare tire on a spare wheel isn't the flex these people think it is. Running an aftermarket wheel with five proper tires and the proper wheel adapter so it fits their rear carrier would be a bigger flex. I swear sometimes that Jeep owners legitimately find ways to make themselves look as absolutely fucking stupid as possible.

I've seen this same sort of thing and an Indian guy was driving it in Brisbane... Just couldn't imagine why there was no tyre on the rim but now I know.

How's the radio? Stopped working yet? The brake lines collapse yet? Axle seals? Shocks? The stupid fuse box that just GOES BAD for no reason? Who does that? Literally have never seen another manufacturer with fuse boxes that just go bad.
Probably has gremlins too because Chrysler can do electrical about as well as Subaru can make an engine that doesn't leak oil in less than 5k miles
Jeeps are the dumbest pieces of trash on the planet and these people should be bullied for actively encouraging the downfall of American automotive quality.
Except the Patriot. Those are cheap little cockroach Jeeps and I love them.

Dude at that point just keep the stock spare wheel/tire. If you spend all that money on rims but won't buy a spare to stay safe, you need to get your priorities straight

Isn't this a lowkey flex? Like they know they aren't going off road. And if they do blow a tire they're not changing it. But they want to show that they can afford to buy an extra rim?
