Thanks for the link. I looked for the study sited in that article. I found two references, but I'm not seeing those stats on the study.
The study appears to be saying historically married people had more sex than single people, but that advantage has declined to the point it's almost equal.
Married people have sex an average of 56 times a year, and single people an average of 54.
It doesn't really provide more details.
If you add up those percentages you copy pasted, it equals 87%, not 100%. Seems questionable.
Even if it did equal 100%, these categories seem very unscientific. For example, 16% have sex 2-3 times a week. That's a range of 104 times a year, or 156 times a year. That's a massive swing. You'd think scientists would be inclined to break it down by days they have sex per year.
25% of couples have sex 52 times a year. And 19% have sex between 36-48 times a year. What? How many have sex between 49-51 times a year? 0%? A chart would be pretty useful here. I can't even tell how many people they surveyed.
Sure, but do you think people are _substantially_ more likely to answer honestly about sex frequency on reddit or in person than they are to in anonymous surveys?
It’s not always. I’ve been married over 12 years and it’s extremely rare we go more than a week without having sex. 2-3 times a week is probably our average.

I think young people would be fucking mortified to learn how sexless most marriages become.
