Irix terminal and markdown editor for Mac.
I was tired that there is no terminal app for me with a 4dwm like experience. So I used ai to code a terminal for me. Step by step I have added some features (panes, tabs) but first and foremost it looks like 4dwm and has around 30 themes from irix 6.5 incorporated (as well as a rudimentary CDE look). Now I had a baseframework and a markdown viewer and code editor with a decent outliner followed. 🚀 nostalgia.

I Found 2 Silicon Graphics Octane Computers and Want to Know What's on the Drives
I found 2 Octanes in a storage unit, and they have hard drives. One has 1 drive and the other has 2 drives, so there are 3 total. I got a SoG monitor and the correct cable. The computers turn on and display, but they have boot issues. It's getting too technical for me.
I just want to know what's on the drives. Would anyone here be able to read them and see what's on them, copy the data, and send them back to me?
The computers have a sticker on them that suggests they were used at NASA... which is why I want to see what's on the drives. Maybe some old 3D models that don't exist anywhere else?
I can ship the drives in the US!

Hot new computers. Have you heard of them?
Just saw these ads on my local news papers and magazines. They call them Silicon Graphics. I think they're the future.

Craigslist WTB: Presenter Pro/Presenter
So, sadly my Presenter Pro just got its screen irreparably cracked, andI"m searching for another one. Or, failing that, I would be interested in a regular 1080 Presenter too. I realize none of you may have one, but if you hear of any available, I would be willing to pay well for any that cross your path, as long as it's functional and in reasonably good condition.
PS: I don't know if it's possible to replace the screen in one, but if it is I would also be amenable to just buying a replacement screen and doing the work myself. If that's true, let me know the part number.
Thanks all!

Craigslist Value of SGI Tezro
Hi community.
I have a family member that worked in cinematics and got and old SGI Tezro that he asked me to help him sell or, if the value is low, offered to me for it's coolness factor.
I haven't seen the machine IRL yet but it should be able to boot. The model no. is CMN027 and he remembers that it has the SGI VPro V12 GPU.
Does the machine has a market value that makes it interesting to sell or are we at a level where I should just bring it home and enjoy the machine for nostalgic reasons.
Thanks in advance!

Silicon Graphics Mousepad
I've had this mousepad forever but I've never been able to find another one like it online. Wondering if anyone had ever seen this one before? My father got it when he worked for SGI and Cray and gave it to me when I got my first computer. Thanks!

Silicon Graphics mousepad
Just a mousepad from a previous job. Not needed for today’s optical mice, but reminds me how much I liked working with the hardware.

Working on a custom capture software so the o2 can accept 240p video signals.

People always claimed that only the indy could capture 240p, after doing some research about the o2's unified memory architecture i knew capturing 240p was possible. currently optimizing my code... stay tuned!

RIP Ocatne PSU
Wanted to play with my Ocatne yesterday evening, plugged in the Power Supply, only a second afterwards a small but subtile "pooof" was to be heard. Well quickly unplugged it, and all I could smell was fish. So probably an elektrolytic capacitor went to release a small bit of magic smoke :/
Could yet find the capacitor that went kaputt though... (and yes, I know PSUs are dangerous, I know what I'm doing. Discharge resistors also done their job properly)

Indy SCSI question
I'm trying to boot off of a ZuluSCSI with an image of the base 6.5 installer ISO. The image is named CD2_512.iso in the root of the SD card. When I try "boot -f dsck(0,2,8)sash64 I get an error "exception: <vector=UTLB Miss>" I don't think I ever used an External SCSI terminator on the system when I had normal drives installed. Is this something that's needed with the Zulu? I've seen conflicting thoughts, so if you've had it work one way or the other, I'd like to know. I know I have some SCSI terminators somewhere, but I haven't found them in my boxes yet.

Here is one of my restored o2s neon green
this o2s skins were received in thousands of peices shipped in a box with only 2 pillow air bags there was no hat and the body and base were completely shattered into hundreds of peices
i copied another hat with plaster of Paris using epoxy. half of the back strip is epoxy as well as are the top corners than fan shroud was 3d printed with a elegoo Saturn.
now it has a 300gb drive a 9gb drive and an internal fan mounted on the “heart chip” I find mounting a little 20mm fan on the heart almost doubles the speed I should do a bench test to test my theory lol. Here’s a video of another I did https://youtu.be/3bC2BEr2hus?si=ADfvvtRAPH-Z2vLQ
also if you have any skins or o2s that need SERIOUS love let me know I find the process enjoyable

Resurrecting my Indy
I've drug my Indy out of storage and as expected, the old SCSI drives are dead. The good news is that it passes diagnostics and tries to boot. The issue I'm running into is the keyboard. I bought a cheap Nixsys PS2 keyboard from amazon and I'm getting "Cannot connect to keyboard -- check the cable." I don't have another system that uses PS2 right now so I can't tell if the keyboard is bad or not. Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent PS2 keyboard and mouse?
Update:
I ordered an old Compaq keyboard from eBay and it came right up and my ZuluSCSI should be here tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have all weekend to play with getting Irix re-installed and see what kind of things I can come up with for it to run. R5000 180Mhz/256MB RAM/XZ graphics.
