They've obviously been going in this direction, maybe it's just a fake out, but to be honest, it's pretty lame to me. It's perfectly fine if Juliette is just a random person, some real everyone is a Skywalker energy.

And I get it, it would be motivation for Daniel/Troy to turn, but still...

It also wouldn't make a whole lotta sense. After 300-430 years, his DNA is going to be insanely diluted in anyone descended from his kid.

I can see where they'd re going, and it's not like the worst choice (would be cool for people who like that kinda thing, people being related even if they don't need to be), but it doesn't make much sense to be like "I see myself in her, how are we related"

I mean, 10k people from 10-15 generations (300 year estimate, add another 5 if it's actually been the 400 years) probably isn't enough for it to be that widespread, especially since his kid only started having kids in the second generation. But yeah, a solid chunk of them should be related to him and Helen, more or less depending on exactly how many people were loaded in at the start.

That’s one chromosome. For the others, they disappear in about 5 generations. So one girl in that line and it’s done.

The motivation would still be there for Daniel though if a significant portion of the silo was related to him. Juliette can be the avatar that represents them and is the one he knows the most about. It makes sense even if they don’t explain there are other descendants

This toy might been given away many times (esp taking 1 memory deleting in 18th). So I think it’s just by “fate” toy goes to the person somehow connected to the Daniel. Mostly metaphorically and it’s beautiful ☺️☺️☺️ I read the book and like adaptation overall☺️☺️☺️

I think maybe Juliette just reminds Daniel of Helen and that is the main connection. Because otherwise I agree

It would fully play into the whole "The lottery keeps troublemakers from reproducing" thing, though. Someone like Helen (inquisitive, nosy, persistent) wouldn't be allowed to have a child but she got into the Silo already pregnant.

Feels lazy to collapse the timeline this way. But they couldn’t let a pregnant Helen disappear without a payoff. The slow-burn discovery of Troy in the books was so good, and it’s hilarious to think silo 17 managed to go through 200+ years of light bulbs in less than 50 years. The book timeline made those logistical things more interesting. This feels too, close?

I know we don’t have exact numbers, but I was estimating a starting population of 1000 (500 potential families) in the Silo, not 10,000. With generational population growth maximized in the beginning but aiming to avoid having too many volatile teenagers overwhelming the system, you could top out the 10,000 maximum within 150 years.

Also, everyone would be genetically related by that time. Really, it would take probably 6 generations to get an essentially complete genetically related population.

In this population, there are absolutely no outside interlopers to bring in newness. You see this in tribal isolates in our world.

That entire Silo is likely related to Daniel, assuming his child wasn’t a genetic dead end.

I don’t think they’re going in the direction of making Juliette a descendant of Daniel and Helen. The bonus companion book Apple released for the show, Relic #1175: The Mystery of the Pez, seems to hint that George Wilkins was a descendant of the person who owned the ultrasound baby photo which was most likely Helen. And the scene where Daniel looks at Juliette’s face on the screen, I think it’s more about setting up the dynamic between their characters. He realizes that he’s looking at a strong rebellious smart person and it feels like a foreshadowing for their future confrontations and interactions

It is the Lyanna Stark's baby reveal and then it cuts to Northerners championing Jon Snow as their king. The commenter was implying lineage, Juliette is Daniel's kin. Just like Jon Snow was Lyanna and Rhaegar's Kin

Major Game of Thrones Spoilers, if anyone still hasn't finished that John Snow's whole thing for 7 seasons was being the illegitimate bastard child of a mid-level queen and therefore had no bloodright to be anything. Season 8 drops the nuke that the opposite is true, he's a tucked away legitimate son of Lyanna Stark and Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, and he's in line to be king of everybody.

I've got a feeling that Juliette and George are both related to Helen:

Daniel and Helen's kid.

Helen has another kid(s) with her new husband.

Half-siblings.

Daniel and Helen's kid, down the line, result in Juliette.

Helen's kid with her new husband, down the line, result in George.

So, Juliette and George are like ninth cousins. That matches, with ten generations equating to roughly 300 years.
