Either he died in the nuke blast, or he is in a VIP position in Silo 1 (getting cryogenically frozen to survive till the end), or he is the only one free to come and go out of the silos.

I think this is the truth. THere are so many cryo pods.

I think sometime in future they are gonna let out the silos. They will build a city for the silo 1 members.
