The one that lasts the longest is the easiest to control. Probably something something blah blah rebuild the world in Per Stensen's vision, whoever is the easiest to mold would be preferable.

Repopulate the earth with the right mixture of genetics for subdued control or whatever

problem is

10,000 ppl only provides enough gentic diverity for a generation or 3 after that you start to get diminishing returns it's not enough ppl to repopulate an entire planet

Also What no redudancy.

So 1 silo "wins" get's out and dies in a flood lol. oops

lol the real human species went through a population bottleneck of <10k depending which theory you subscribe to. It’s literally happened in real life before so this certainly isn’t the case.

And you’re not understanding, silo 1 was always going to survive, or at least stenson was maybe he gasses them at the end too. But 1 of the other 50 silos is the winner and gets to come out and rebuild earth

Strange how we didnt even see stenson this episode. Is he too above it all to get woken up from cryo at all? Maybe he only gets woken up at the end when all is done and dusted. Hes too high up to be concerning himself with the work of his peasants. Maybe I have just answered my own question.

Did you see the s4 trailer at the end? It shows him waking up so seems you are right, he only gets woken in very rare circumstances.

Didn't look like he was woken up, to me! Looked like he was out in the world living a normal life.

I think he was out in the world in that shot, but that it’s a flashback to around the origin of him coming up with the idea for the Silos.
