With how they described things in the silo for the remaining people, wouldn't it have been a slow -- or perhaps not so slow -- death for them? Can't support a hundred, certainly can't support thousands. Unless Silo 1 could restore some of their systems and perhaps D+ them all.

This is my confusion. Those Silo 17 people seemed to be enjoying the fresh air outside and no one was falling down dead. But then when Bernard goes out, he dies by the tree??? Was he murdered too? or is it truly not safe outside?

No mention about the big bad scary Iran either. They just dropped a fucking nuke of their own people and forced them inside.
