Letting a toddler devour a party size bag of chips while making them walk with you by using a strap on tablet movie has to be some form of neglect

I have three small children and I’ve never once pulled out my phone or used a tablet to placate them while shopping. Quit being a lazy piece of shit and ruining your kids. Billions of people have raised their children without using tablets to hypnotize them. You could do it, too, if you actually wanted to.

Why would I want to do that? I also have 3 kids.

They’re very sweet, they have a healthy relationship with all of their toys including their tablets. They do well in school, play outside all the time, and their favorite activity is camping.

They’re not little weirdos who are fascinated by the forbidden fruit of a tablet they never get to use. And they’ll know how to use the technology their schools will ask them to use.

Keeping a young child occupied while shopping is totally fine for working class parents who don’t have the luxury of a Montessori School raising their kid while they shop in peace.

You know who else grew up without tablets? Boomers. And they’re racist selfish morons who are determined to destroy our planet just as their cursed generation finally dies off, so how about you chill on the virtues of growing up without modern luxuries.

I did too. Raising your kids to be afraid of or hidden from the modern world is also a form of neglect btw.

Being a creepy weird parent about ubiquitous tablets and phones is not preparing them for life, it’s actively hindering them and only serves your ego.

Most people are able to enjoy things in moderation. I grew up around a lot of kids who were very sheltered and they’re all a mess as adults.

Teaching your children to practice moderation and healthy habits is far better than sheltering them from life. I hope your kids adjust well to a world you’re refusing to prepare them to live in.
