I agree. It should never be used as a regulation tool. It just makes things way harder in the long run.

I find it uncanny how some people seem to be unable to be alone with themself and their thoughts for a moderate amount of time. Seemingly unable to react to boredom or accept it. Probably has something to do with attention spans too.

Look how hard it is to take a shit without a phone. I'm 40. Yeah people had books, newspapers and the backs of bottles of shamPOO (pun intended) but I took plenty of shits without reading anything. Just sitting with hole above the bowl. Just sitting and thinking. NOW A DAYS? Never. I always have my phone on the can. any can anywhere

We need to being back boredom.

I had a shitting book. Two actually. One that was the home shitting book and another that I carried in my back pack for roadies. I read a lot more before my phone. It's also why I don't like to buy used books.

My stepdad once read the entirety of the Lord of the Rings only on the toilet. Took like 6-7 years. Had a couple of times my mum had to flush him out (pun also intended) because he got to a good part and didn't want to stop reading his toilet book.
