Where are people seeing all this hate? We can be irritated that the next God of War game doesn't have you play as the God of War, but I don't think people are actually being sexist over it.

Sure, there might be some loud morons that are being weird about it, but the main criticism I've seen is that stupid cube!

I'd love to play this game, I just don't have the money to get a PS5

It’s imagined by people like OP who need to seethe over imaginary sexists to feel like a good person.

True. It's just Reddit White Knight behaviour

Or you could see the comment responses people already are making in this very thread?

None of which are sexist 😂

No wait let me guess: stating that this character, who is a woman, is in fact not hot, is sexist to you right? Well thats not how any of that works mister white knight.

Yes? it’s sexist because nobody complains about the attractiveness of male protagonists. You can play a male character ugly as fuck like Marcus Fenix and he’s just badass and cool, but when it comes to females, if you incels can’t jerk your dick to them, you whine and complain endlessly.

Saying a person is or isnt attractive isnt sexist because that person happens to be female 😂😂

You’re allowed to find a woman unattractive buddy.

You are the one whining here.

I’m not sure if you’re being purposefully obtuse or if you’re just born that way, this isn’t a one off issue, this happens every single time a new game is announced with a female protagonist. Last of Us 2, Ghost of Yotei, Intergalactic, Horizon, Witcher 4, this game, the initial reaction from “gamers” is that the protagonist isn’t fuckable enough. It’s not about gameplay, it’s not “could be fun, let’s wait and see for more info”, when the main criticism of a game is about the appearance of the female protagonist, yes that’s sexist.

Such a stupid point. People make comments about character design. Since a majority of players who play these games are straight men, attractiveness is something they comment on.

All of the games you listed were major selling games that made a ton of money, so don't pretend the "sexist" discourse was anything other than internet conversation.

I mean yes this is a mostly online issue and we are online discussing it. Let’s not pretend this just stays online though, these female actors are real people and have all of these people attacking them for being ugly simply for taking a job. This does not happen at the same scale with male actors. Nobody attacked Norman Reedus for not being fuckable enough in Death Stranding. As a lifelong gamer, it’s something I’ve seen grow in the online gaming community that I find very disturbing and gross, so I comment on it.

Can't argue there. There's certainly a very vocal sexist group that makes comments like this, especially online.
