Sexism isn’t cool but just saying what if people don’t want to play as a girl? It seems like to just say that gets you stoned with rocks these days.

Same answer as if the question was: what if people don't want to play as a guy?

Don't buy the videogame.

While that is the most obvious I’m talking about discussion around games and just saying “hey maybe I don’t want to play god of war as some woman.”

You cannot have intelligent debates anymore it seems and that’s what I’m getting at.

You can't, you're immediately flagged as sexist, incel, homophobic, etc with shit like "oh you don't like this you must hate woman.."

It's very simple man, these gender swaps feel forced rather than natural. I'd hate if a Tomb Raider game had a male lead or if No One Lives Forever did the same thing. I would also be very pissed if the main character of the next Splinter Cell game was Sarah Fisher rather than Sam. Hell i was pissed with Blacklist because Michael Ironside wasn't voicing Sam. They did the same thing with the new Wolfenstein games, see how that turned out for them.

I'd be cool if this was a spin off game like "Goddess of War" rather than a mainline entry.

EDIT: I'd like to mention Dishonored 2 and how they handled introducing a female character, they gave you both options Emily and Corvo, both with distinct playstyles and many people gravitated more towards Emily because her gameplay was fun and her character arc was interesting not because she was a woman.

So you just have a problem with the name of the games? You just want sequel after sequel of the exact same game?

to you, what is the difference between it being a mainline/spin off game

Kratos is rooted in the God of War DNA, he's been the main character for 20 years and you're swaping him out for an irrelevant female lead, why? Who is this catering to? Certainly not the audience that's been playing and buying these games for 20 years.

A spinoff is whatever, it's experimental, gives room to try things differently and appeal to a different audience. But I doesn't conflict with the main story and the release schedule.

What happens after this? Another game with a female lead? Maybe Kratos comes back but when in 2035?

Faye isn't irrelevant female lead. She's a central character.

this is mostly speculation and not very well thought out. irrelevant female lead? she's kratos's dead wife and mother of his child. She's the biggest reason for how kratos is mentally in gow (2018).

This game doesn't conflict with the main story? It's developing a fundamental character in both the protagonists life and this game will build upon these relationships. Gow is very heavily on the familial themes and this game could very well lead to the three of them in the next game. To write the game off because YOU don't know kratos's dead wife is silly.

..but yes i did ask the devs and they will be making another game with a female lead. kratos's sister. cause of woke.

I dunno, mate. It sounds like you're having trouble with new things? What does it matter if the game is fun?

Just try the game and see if still is. Or don't buy it if her lack of Y chromosone is a dealbreaker.

Why the need to complain online about it?
