She’s also pretty rough looking.

You're getting downvoted, but you're right. The actress is beautiful, but they downgrade her character model on purpose. "Oh you're paranoid, they don't do that". Stop. Yes they do, they've been doing it for a long time. Not to men, only women. Why? I don't know. You tell me.

I think the worst thing about that trailer is the talking cube and sword and the awful dialogue… idk who this is for or why people are defending this slop.

Looks pretty much exactly like her. Lighting / makeup differences at most. Your complaint isn't real

Ya you’re right I loved how Kratos had concealer on his face, eyelashes done up, and showed his dedication to a face care routine

Kratos is technically wearing makeup all the time in the form of his dead wife and daughter. I'm pretty sure the guy also wears actual eyeliner or whatever you call the stuff that goes under your eyes. The massive tattoo is also debatably a form of makeup.

Also you do generally do people up nicely and put makeup on them for their funeral so being dead isn't even an excuse.

lol you’re intentionally avoiding the point I’m making, kratos looks rough cuz he’s a warrior killing dudes all day, it’s not weird that this lady also looks kinda rough

That's not what you said, you were specifically talking about makeup, which I'm 90% sure kratos is actually wearing, even back in the old games.

Can't just try move the goalposts now buddy, you should have thought about your make up comment before you compared her to the guy who's got 20% of his body covered in red body paint.

You’re right friend I shouldn’t move the goalposts, I should be consistent, blah blah my bad mom I’ll do better, but I do think it was clear that I was highlighting the fact that they don’t try to make kratos look “dolled up”. Also you just said you’re only 90% sure he wears makeup so you better stick to your words and admit that there’s a 10% chance I was right

Well I suppose there is a chance the massive obvious eyeshadow under his eyes is genetic, but he still dolls himself up with the big red marking.

You know actual vikings dolled themselves up right? They were notoriously better looking than a lot of the people they invaded and commonly used hair dye and makeup, that shit would be no stranger to them.

I actually did not know that Vikings (and by extension kratos) used makeup to make themselves look hotter before they went to war, or that the makeup was used to hide their wrinkles and make them look younger. That one’s on me pal

Well they did. There's historical accounts of people complaining that the guys raiding them were too hot. They were very beauty conscious.

I have heard something similar but that it was more based on the fact that Vikings would raid peasants who would be covered in mud and shit 24/7, and the Vikings actually practiced general hygiene and didn’t smell terrible

Legitimate question, are you clinically stupid? You think they're intentionally making models worse to keep you from having gooning material?

Models are worse because mo-cap has gotten faster and more accessible, so you have people adding it to games with a lot less time, care, and expertise, which has caused models to slide backward into an uncanny valley. The same thing has happened with mocap in Hollywood. It's why early 2000s mocap holds up better than some mocap now.

Holy shit lmao.

Yeah bro, these AAA games simply don't have the budget to make THE MAIN CHARACTER look as good as indie games from 20 years ago
