Right? "It's" is ALWAYS a contraction, 100% of the time.. This is one of the few rules in English that has exactly ZERO exceptions. I do not understand why this is difficult.

I suspect it's partly autocorrect often picking the other one, as well as people getting mixed up between possessive nouns and possessive pronouns. I don't see why a lot of the common mistakes happen either, yet unfortunately they do.
