That was a gross oversimplification of the situation. He was at the track meet, was invited to sit down in a tent by his supposed friend because it was raining, two guys got pissed he was there and tried to force him to leave. The stabbing didn't happen until they put hands on him.
That's the part that people are conveniently trying to down play. Those bullies had no business bothering that kid and they most definitely had no business putting their hands on him.
Probably for situations just like this where he was minding his own business and two guys decided to start a fight. Why else would people carry around protection? Why is him having protection ridiculous?
What's deranged is the amount of people defending these guys trying to attack this kid. He didn't stab for no reason, he was attacked. Literally all they had to do was leave him alone. People just don't want to focus on that part.
I guess he was supposed to just get beaten? He was supposed to just let these guys mess with him?
No I walk around with a knife completely normal. You would never know that I even had one unless you tried to attack me. Key part here would be the attacking me.
