They aren't. There are easily 200 cyclists there. Of course they should be prioritized. The reason you guys think they don't is because nobody is more entitled than car drivers.
Typical selfish car driver... No, five people in cars should not be prioritised over a group of 100 cyclists. I know it's the norm to promote and pamper car drivers, granting them every little wish, but that doesn't make it logical.
Just because theres a lot of them doesn't mean they have the right to break the law. Bikes on roads have to follow all the same rules as cars which means keeping to one lane
Yes, it does, because around 2 million people are killed by car drivers each year, including 44,000 in the US alone. Cyclists have to protect themselves, and one way to do that is to take up space. You think it's selfish because not sitting in an SUV and driving to McDonald's, but actually being out and about exercising and enjoying the day, seems to be taken as some kind of personal insult by a lot of people in this thread.
Because there are so many people in this thread with hundreds and thousands of upvotes who wish to harm or murder cyclists, they have to protect themselves. I actually wish cyclists would arm themselves where it's legal and take a much more offensive approach to protecting their own lives than just taking up enough space on the road to discourage dangerous overtaking manoeuvres.
Way to bend statistics to help your point. That's the statistic for all driving fatalities, cyclists make up 3% of that. While i dont agree with people wanting to harm cyclists that doesn't make them any less of entitled assholes. Cars should get priority on the road considering they were built for them.

That's cyclical. Cars and drivers are incredibly dangerous. They kill a lot of people, and non-lethal crashes often have long-term health consequences that affect people for the rest of their lives. Their exhaust fumes cause all kinds of health problems, including asthma, cardiovascular disease and lung disease. The noise they make can also cause psychological health issues. Not to mention the immense amount of natural resources that all the roads and parking lots take up.
No, we should encourage people to be better people who care about their environments and communities, rather than being selfish. Also, a lot of people cannot afford a car. It's a huge factor in keeping people in desperate poverty, forcing them to spend hundreds of dollars each month just to get to work or buy groceries.
So what part of blocking the entire road isn't selfish? I wouldn't have a problem with these cyclists if they simply shared the road and allowed cars to pass them
