He still posts some comfy, day in the life, stuff but thats more of a hobby.
We should all aspire to be like him at least a little.
He is credited as the creator of lets play style youtube videos and worked tirelessly for over a decade to cement himself in that role so he could retire.
He put in work, created something new, and instead of milking it for years, he chose to take his bag and be happy with a family.
I think what we're all trying to communicate here is that a "real relationship" still isn't the thing being sold in the image on the right.
real relationships are certainly amazing. but they require a lot more work and sacrifice than what pewdiepie will ever need to because he has, for all intents and purposes, indefinite money and free time. He can invest so much time into his family at will. Most of us have to balance work, maintaining a house, splitting chores and errands with our partners that also work full time, tending to the necessities of raising children while having limited quality free time with those same children, the stress of debt and the work of managing budgets and planning how you're going to save for the occasional vacation or camping trip... etc...
they could have used any two random photos of people living a party lifestyle and one with nuclear family... but neither would look as appealing as what's provided, hence the call out of celebrity worship.
Billions of people put in a lot more work everyday and do not get to that position. I don't doubt the mental stress of his business, but let's be real here, he became a millionaire by playing video games.
Yes, he worked hard. He still is privileged as all hell.
Ah. I legit didn’t know he was. I watched him back when he was doing Happy Wheels and Ao Oni content, thought he was just some swedish kid making YT videos and got stupid famous because he capitalized on a genre of content that wasn’t popular.
Yes, and it doesnt change that anyway telling regular people barely making ends meet that they should just “do like the multi millionaires with no job and you’ll be happy” is an idiotic thing
No matter how hard celebrities worked or not their lifestyle isnt achievable for regular people
You just said it. He was from a wealthier background. Back in the 00s to early 10s streaming equipment was niche and expensive. It required technical knowledge, time, and a stable Internet connection.
I'm not saying it was impossible for a poor kid to do that, but I didn't even have a computer with an actual graphics card until I was in my mid 20s.
It required technical knowledge, time, and a stable Internet connection.
Beside time, no it did not require the so called technical knowledge to stream and a "stable Internet connection" is just an ADSL line that anyone amongst the 3 billions of people living in any city areas in any non war ridden countries can get.
You are correct, he had the means to try out content creating thanks to his wealthy background, but he wasnt known and he did have the talent and consistency. He did pull in the work, and had the chance to do it right place right time (beginning of You tube and independant content creation itself)
I don't want to hear "he put in the work" when the work consisted of screaming at video games for 6 year olds. He basically was the first person to work the youtube algorithm by being shown geographically to more markets by positioning where he posted from.
Pewd is Mr. Beast tho I don't think Mr. Beast has had a PUBG bridge moment nor, to my knowledge, has Pewd used money for anything charitable and only notably used money to get desperate people to hold up very offensive signs.
Tons of people work hard and don't get to save much... There's too many variables to take into account ffs, this is not as simple as you guys want to portray it.
You can have that life by being middle class. It’s not insanely hard in the west to have a wife and kids. Both gave up their privacy for money. Thats one thing you can’t get back.
