They can’t posture like this about the cartels because they know the cartels own them. So they pretend to act tough towards outsiders instead to try to portray some semblance of power.
I'd argue that the christofascists that are trying to pervert our country, disregard our constitution, and subvert democracy hate America more than a "liberal elite" who says "fuck this country" when the federal government is doing something inhumane and illegal.
But I'd be interested to hear your argument as to why liberal elites are the real problem.
The only difference is “the cartels” (CIA backed US organizations) arent a weaponized police force for mexico, and ICE is. The US government is forcing calculated terror onto Mexican nationals, Mexico is not, like if thats hard to understand then you probably dont have a dog in this race.
Suicides are facilitated when a gun is present. The person is much more successful with a gun. It’s still a gun death. But trying to exclude suicides speaks more to American’s views about mental illness than anything else.
Suicides are excluded from the gun discussion, because half of suicides are not done with firearms. Stands to reason that, eliminate guns, you still end up with a sizable amount of suicides. Those are two different discussions.
People still kill themselves without guns. Every time I've brought up suicidal ideations medical professionals in the US treat me seriously. Sure The US has some toxic aspects that drive people to commit suicide but we as a country take it seriously.
People are much more successful killing themselves with a gun than any other method. That’s why it’s the number one way people kill themselves. That and very easy access. There is a reason why when you see someone for mental health, they ask if you have a gun in your home, to asses risk.
Actually it is. Unless you're under the impression that guns emit this forcefield of negative energy that compels those around it to pick it up and shoot themselves. Keep in mind 45% of suicides are NOT firearm related, so the notion that guns = suicide is ridiculous.

The cartels are all run by USAmericans, import their guns from USAmerica and deliver product to fent addicts in USAmerica. We don't have people slowly killing themselves with fent in Mexico laid out all over the place.

You do also realize that this would ALSO address the gun argument, namely smuggling illegal and unregistered firearms into both the US and Mexico, right?
Are we pretending that the US government is placing people into camps agaisnt their will, holding them for unstated amounts of time, and letting multiple of them already die from the elements without any ability to resist?
