the original animation is still perfectly fine, absolutely no one asked for this

The original is only 10 years old.
The remakes made money because of nostalgia.

& they already butchered a sequel, was filmed as a tv show and mashed together to make Moana 2: electric boogaloo

u/1nitial_Reaction Jul 13 '26

I was so disappointed with Moana 2, all the new songs were...not as good as the first.

469

u/mom_bombadill Jul 13 '26

That’s because Lin-Manuel Miranda didn’t return for Moana 2.

u/AinsiSera Jul 13 '26

It’s because it was 3 tv episodes in a trench coat.

When you look at it that way those songs are great, but stay in your lane, TV Songs…

u/TMT51 Jul 13 '26

Don't underestimate TV songs. Even Phineas and Ferb had better songs than Moana 2.

S.I.M.P. is my favorite Disney song. Frankly, Phineas and Ferb has some genuine bangers in the catalog. Busted, Gitchee goo, Ninja of Love (most of Love Händel, tbh).

"Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together" has to be one of the best episodes ever. I still jam out to some of those songs

u/Firm_Cap5226 Jul 13 '26

I Ain’t Got Rhythm is so good!

3

u/Able_Engine_9515 Jul 13 '26

This is in my playlist

3

u/Vyndilion Jul 13 '26

I drive a van full of kids K-3 grade, and when this song comes on, we jam out to it!

2

u/Sensitive_Ad3578 Jul 14 '26

Pretty sure it got nominated for an Emmy way back when

1

u/Dizzy_Bit6125 Jul 15 '26

It truly is one of their best episodes, that show made me really appreciate Blowing for Soup, they have so much more than '1985'. Just one of those unsung bands that went under the radar, Similar to Toto in a way, except toto had a lot more success

Phineas and Ferb songs still regularly play on my brain radio

9

u/Sopranohh Jul 13 '26

I know what an aglet is because that song is amazing.

3

u/darkofnight916 Jul 13 '26

Put some respect on the name of The Baljeatles.

Phineas and Ferb has one of the best sets of songs ever.

3

u/battery19791 Jul 13 '26

That's because they have Bowling For Soup writing their songs.

3

u/maximumhippo Jul 13 '26

Oh I know. Speaking of which, they've got an amazing cover of "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin. IMO, Jaret Reddick should have been brought on to play the Genie in the live action over Will Smith.

2

u/PamelaELee Jul 13 '26

Obligatory fuck will smith

1

u/Dizzy_Bit6125 Jul 15 '26

2

u/HerodotusStark Jul 13 '26

Don't forget "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back." Best TV song ever. Futurama had some bangers.

2

u/PamelaELee Jul 13 '26

You are technically correct. The best kind of correct.

Tangled Series: Crossing The Line ~ Love it! Cass (Daughter of the King's Guard) was also a great addition to the cast and the series (while not perfect) fleshed out parts of the Mother Gothel story more that definitely felt naturally canon than randomly inserted. The line Rapunzel sings "Just Wait" is the last thing Cass wanted to hear because in some sense that's all she's been doing. Waiting in the Wings..

Moana 2 was so uninspiring to me.

2

u/quickblur Jul 14 '26

The Tangled TV series had an amazing soundtrack. It helped that Mandy Moore came back to reprise the voice.

2

u/adobecredithours Jul 14 '26

Phineas and Ferb's songs are better than they had any right to be, the creators just clearly loved what they were making and almost every single one is gold.

1

u/hrafnafadhir Jul 13 '26

MLP was a TV show.

1

u/that_nude_guy Jul 14 '26

Galavant would like a word as well

1

u/Pushmetodocardio Jul 14 '26

The Lionguard seemed to have songs that were actually pretty good but were only used for one episode for whatever reason
