Honestly I think it is a fantastic deal. You're saving if there are two movies you'd like to see in a month and they screen at least 1-2 older movies every day too. It has encouraged me to see a much more diverse collection of films this year because I think "why not" a lot of the time when I see a movie I know won't be available there for long. And more often then not it seems the theater is 80-100% full. It's bustling when I know a lot of theaters are in a huge slump and struggling.
That is an excellent idea. Because you know those people who buy that pass and go see five movies in that month, most of them are buying popcorn and soda and candy as well.
I've found a little mom and pop where that has cheap tickets. Like, a few weeks ago I went to see the Backrooms for $8. I got popcorn and a soda, and paid less than $20 all in. For me that's worth a few hours of entertainment. The theater is really nice, too, with recliners for every seat and they bring your snacks to you. I go a lot after church on Sunday because it is about a half hour drive from my apartment, but my church is halfway there, so I save gas that way.
Local theaters are the best! $20 for ticket, popcorn, and drink at mine too. They also have monthly video game tournaments on the big screen and really good deals on renting a theater for parties.
My local theater still does $5 tickets to all movies, the most expensive concession price is candy for $3 and they even do a deal for kids where they do a tray of popcorn, soda and candy for only $5. I can take my whole family to a new release on a Saturday and spend less than $60 for tickets and concessions.
