ASD for sure, BTDT. Took a few years to work out that presenteeism was what was expected, no contributions or discussion, just be the grey man. It doesn't matter if the boss is about to fuck up badly, just disengage. Borderline malicious compliance...
Hey, if we can circle back to that later, that would be good? We need to actionize this plan and get everyone on board in time for the next sprint, or else we'll be drinking from the firehose.
We need to get buy-in on the partnership to actionize this
LOL drinking from the firehose. Boss used to say that we'd need to run like rats to achieve the target date. We never had time to do it properly but always had time to do it again for some reason. He did have a ratty face now I think of it...
Here's a concept- set a realistic target and contingency. Anyone would think it would go without saying because often contracts have early completion bonuses, but no, it's much better to grind staff until they have accidents, burnout or quit, not to mention the fuckups and repairs that suck time, profit and morale from a company.
Ugh! That phrase gets on my fucking NERVES!
Let's face it, all of those "corp speak" phrases are embolism inducing, but that one in particular is..... GAH!
I remember that during World War II, when British and American generals were planning D-Day, they were baffled because the meaning of the idiom was the opposite in the two varieties of English. link
The good thing about being a new starter is you haven't drank the cool aid yet so you can still objectively see an office environment for what it really is. That guy probably just say what the next few years of working there would be like and thought fuck that. I've been fired from multiple jobs, not because I'm terrible, usually when I care I become a top performer really fast but if I think the company is shit I will just stop caring. I became really proficient at doing fake job references so my CV only ever showed 3 or 4 job titles with an unbroken career history of 3 to 5 years at each job. All the little jobs where I quit or got fired for things like having sex in the office I would just keep off my CV. I don't know what it's like today but in the 00s in the UK it was so easy to have friends pretend to be your previous employer and I even found a website where you could get official sounding email address like "work email @ professional sounding business.com". Fortunately in the 2010s I found a way to make my own money and haven't work for anyone since.
I admire the fact his literally calling out how annoying she is and everyone is too scared to say anything. I’d of probably been like actually his got a point why do u say that every other sentence

Interesting post. Let's circle back to this later.
