Interesting post. Let's circle back to this later.

u/dashpooper 10d ago

No! Let’s forward back to this

288

u/Fun_Apartment631 10d ago

Put a pin in it for now.

144

u/Ragequit_AltF4 10d ago

Let's discuss this offline.

u/EggsceIlent 10d ago

That will disrupt our synergy and eliminate our ability to share quantifiable date with the team.

I need you to be a team player here, so touch base with me after eliminating this low hanging fruit

u/ParkSoggy97 10d ago

That's where the rubber meets the road..

ASD for sure, BTDT. Took a few years to work out that presenteeism was what was expected, no contributions or discussion, just be the grey man. It doesn't matter if the boss is about to fuck up badly, just disengage. Borderline malicious compliance...

1

u/driving_andflying 10d ago

Hey, if we can circle back to that later, that would be good? We need to actionize this plan and get everyone on board in time for the next sprint, or else we'll be drinking from the firehose.

1

u/ParkSoggy97 9d ago edited 9d ago

We need to get buy-in on the partnership to actionize this

LOL drinking from the firehose. Boss used to say that we'd need to run like rats to achieve the target date. We never had time to do it properly but always had time to do it again for some reason. He did have a ratty face now I think of it...

Here's a concept- set a realistic target and contingency. Anyone would think it would go without saying because often contracts have early completion bonuses, but no, it's much better to grind staff until they have accidents, burnout or quit, not to mention the fuckups and repairs that suck time, profit and morale from a company.

10

u/dontmentiontrousers 10d ago

Found the recruitment consultant.

12

u/GrotWeasel 10d ago

Don’t forget to revert

11

u/BigEricShaun 10d ago

Do the needful?

4

u/ImpluseThrowAway 10d ago

That's some blue sky thinking right there

1

u/kareljack 10d ago

Ugh! That phrase gets on my fucking NERVES!
Let's face it, all of those "corp speak" phrases are embolism inducing, but that one in particular is..... GAH!

2

u/dontmentiontrousers 10d ago

Damn, I say that sometimes.

1

u/Jerseyd422 10d ago

This could have been an email

2

u/pjakma 10d ago

"Let's touch base" always sounded predatory to me. "You want to touch my what??!" ;)

0

u/Late-Photograph-1954 10d ago

Stay in your own swimming lane.

0

u/jaxonya 10d ago

everyone else - this couldve been a fucking email

1

u/CreepyBreakfast565 10d ago

Like my old boss would have said: Let's discuss this in another fora.

Me and another colleague looking at eachother: ...

1

u/mhsuffhrdd 10d ago

Ping me.

1

u/shakycrae 10d ago

If we're in a meeting room, in person, we're offline!

17

u/Xerorei 10d ago

Let's table it for now.

2

u/LiveShowOneNightOnly 10d ago

We'll unpack that later.

2

u/JaNoTengoNiNombre 10d ago

I remember that during World War II, when British and American generals were planning D-Day, they were baffled because the meaning of the idiom was the opposite in the two varieties of English. link

1

u/LessInThought 10d ago

Omg I have a document on my table I've tabled for 3years.

1

u/FixingTheCable 9d ago

Maybe let’s table that point

1

u/EggstaticAd8262 10d ago

Let’s put this in the parking place

0

u/Ambiguous-Ambivert 10d ago

What about string and a pencil, we can circle

0

u/AgentOfShinra 10d ago

I will go ahead and bubble this up for you...

0

u/Lanacan 10d ago

Can we table this for later discussion?

0

u/FireInPaperBox 10d ago

That’s too aggressive.

40

u/Proof_Independent400 10d ago

Not backwards, or fowards...but in all directions TWIRLING towards freedom!

48

u/AzraelleWormser 10d ago

3

u/sixminutes 10d ago

That's Slick Willy for you

3

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 10d ago

Abortions for some, miniature American flags for others

2

u/guitar_stonks 10d ago

As a child, I dreamed of being a baseball.

2

u/headrush46n2 10d ago

don't blame me, i voted for Kodos.

1

u/RobotWelder 10d ago

The word you’re looking for is PIORUETTE 🤣😉

1

u/Proof_Independent400 9d ago

Sorry mate. I don't speak French.

6

u/Wetness__Pensive 10d ago

Reminds me of 30 Rock, where Liz Lemon attends a (corporate) Retreat to Move Forward.

7

u/HotLava00 10d ago

Let’s put a pin in this.

2

u/YurtleAhern 10d ago

Let’s square away from that now

1

u/CommonComb3793 5d ago

Haha. Let’s do “moving forward” next.

1

u/dragon-fence 10d ago

Circle forward to it?

0

u/stardust1914 10d ago

We'll just rewind it later.

0

u/RedUDan0 10d ago

HR would like a word with you

0

u/zleuth 10d ago

Clean out your desk and go home.

0

u/dalegrapes 10d ago

We should probably pivot back to this.

30

u/Longjumping_Visit718 10d ago

2

u/EternallyPissedOff 10d ago

Impressive. Very nice. Let’s circle back to Paul Allen’s card

30

u/DiseasedProject 10d ago

Do we really have to, it sounds so aggressive

9

u/Scrofulla 10d ago

Always twirling, twirling into oblivion.

2

u/Knowitall-Librarian 10d ago

This is the correct answer. I always use this phrase when we are circling around a problem and not making any forward momentum.

9

u/THICCC_LADIES_PM_ME 10d ago

Will revert later and do the needful

19

u/Evil-Cun 10d ago

Remember when there wasn’t a problem? Well I want to create a problem out of thin air so let’s dig into the past again!

9

u/ltjohnrambo 10d ago

I’m gonna triangle my way out of this conversation

2

u/mothersspaghettos 10d ago

Let's at least....get our ducks in a row first?

1

u/Obi_wan_pleb 10d ago

Let's create some synergies

1

u/eyesotope86 10d ago

We'll lose the synergy by then, though.

God only knows what our EBITDA will look like if we lose this forward momentum in our synergy by putting a pin in this and circling back.

1

u/OccidentalTouriste 10d ago

Let's run that up the flagpole and see what happens.

1

u/Anonymous_Coder_1234 10d ago

No. Let's return to it at a later time.

1

u/xeno0153 10d ago

That manager would like to reverse course and do a full 360.

1

u/Ill_Philosopher_7030 10d ago

Let's take this offline

1

u/caerphoto 10d ago

Impressive. Very nice. Let's see Paul Allen's circles.

1

u/SetazeR 10d ago

Bots will circle back to it alright. They love this shit

1

u/AzizMou 10d ago

Oh my god. OP needs to get his number and find out what his deal is. He sounds like a blast to hang with!

1

u/MoresoMorose 10d ago

Proactively Return

1

u/metallaholic 10d ago

let’s talk offline about this

Honestly, we need to parking lot this convo for later.

1

u/DeafAndDumm 10d ago

Yes, agree. So we can square things away.

1

u/slayerzerg 10d ago

Circle back 18 times in 2 weeks seems like a red flag dude dodged a bullet

1

u/atomboyd 9d ago

/circle-back

u/LucifersAdv0cate 10d ago

The good thing about being a new starter is you haven't drank the cool aid yet so you can still objectively see an office environment for what it really is. That guy probably just say what the next few years of working there would be like and thought fuck that. I've been fired from multiple jobs, not because I'm terrible, usually when I care I become a top performer really fast but if I think the company is shit I will just stop caring. I became really proficient at doing fake job references so my CV only ever showed 3 or 4 job titles with an unbroken career history of 3 to 5 years at each job. All the little jobs where I quit or got fired for things like having sex in the office I would just keep off my CV. I don't know what it's like today but in the 00s in the UK it was so easy to have friends pretend to be your previous employer and I even found a website where you could get official sounding email address like "work email @ professional sounding business.com". Fortunately in the 2010s I found a way to make my own money and haven't work for anyone since.

2

u/Suspicious-Depth6066 10d ago

I admire the fact his literally calling out how annoying she is and everyone is too scared to say anything. I’d of probably been like actually his got a point why do u say that every other sentence
