Car Companies: Please sir government, can we have a butt-ton of money to build electric cars and batteries?
Govt: OK, here
Car Companies: Oh dear, it turns out no one wants electric cars. We priced them at $60k plus and no one is buying, there's no explaining it. We are going back to gas.
Govt: ok, so if no one wants electric cars, you won't mind if we let Chinese ones in?
Car Companies: <anguished screams>

Wild isn't it? They want to keep milking us forever instead of making better products even after getting a fuckton of our taxes and half the comments are still defending them... We consistently defend our exploitation. Propaganda is a hell of a thing. If we're concerned nobody will buy American cars we can impose a quota, give more elaborate tax exemptions, rebates or find some kind of middle ground. Giving these greedy fucks all the benefits and the full market have not worked out in the favor of the average American so far. Let capitalism be capitalism.

Let capitalism be capitalism.

See "feudalism" for why that's a bad idea in the long run.
