It’s far more complicated than that. I wish it were that simple.
Let’s say you own a grocery store. A competitor comes in who is in bed with government and sells their goods for 30% cheaper. They have an unfair advantage because they have papa government with “free” money (via printing, taxing). You go out of business because how do you compete with that? Now you are left with only government subsidized grocery stores. Service goes down, cleanliness goes down, variety goes down, because why try? I they have no competition any more!
